Abstract
Polusi air adalah masalah di seluruh dunia dan mendeteksi serta mengidentifikasi
polusi air adalah bagian penting dalam memecahkan masalah ini. Salah satu
pelanggar utama adalah zat pewarna, malachite green. Pewarna ini umumnya
digunakan dalam tekstil dan juga digunakan sebagai fungisida untuk budidaya ikan.
Malachite green dapat diasimilasi ke dalam metabolisme organisme menggantikan
senyawa tertentu dalam protein. Karena penggunaannya yang luas dalam
akuakultur, pewarna ini dapat mengalir ke ekosistem air terutama di Asia Tenggara.
Salah satu alat ukur yang banyak digunakan untuk mendeteksi kandungan senyawa
tertentu dalam larutan sampel adalah spektrometer, sebuah alat ukur yang dapat
mengidentifikasi dan menkuantifikasi sampel dengan akurat dan mudah. Tetapi ada
satu masalah, peralatan ini sangat mahal, sehingga menghalangi pelajar untuk
mendapatkan edukasi dan mengembangkan ketertarikan mengenai alat teknis
spektrometer. Spektrometer terjangkau yang digunakan dengan pengetahuan yang
tepat dapat memberikan banyak peneliti dan pelajar dorongan besar dalam
kemajuan edukasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membuat
spektrometer yang terjangkau dan mudah dalam pembuatannya. Penelitian ini
berhasil merancang dan mendemonstrasikan spektrometer absorpsi murah yang
dibuat dengan sumber cahaya lampu halogen, slit yang dibuat dari sepasang pisau
silet, grating difraksi 600 lp/mm, dan webcam sebagai sensor. Percobaan
menunjukkan bahwa spektrometer yang diusulkan berhasil mendemonstrasikan
aplikasinya untuk mengukur korelasi konsentrasi malachite green dengan
mengamati absorbansi puncak serapan pada panjang gelombang 615 nm. Kalibrasi
dengan menggunakan spektrometer komersial BioDropTM sebagai referensi
menunjukkan korelasi yang kuat dengan R2 sebesar 0.9984./
Water pollution is a worldwide problem in which detecting and identifying water
pollution is an important part of solving this problem. One of the main offenders
is the coloring agent, malachite green. This dye is commonly used in textiles and
is also used as a fungicide for fish farming. Malachite green can be assimilated
into the metabolism of organisms replacing certain compounds in proteins. Due
to its wide use in aquaculture, this dye can flow into aquatic ecosystems
especially in Southeast Asia. One of the measuring tools that is widely used to
detect the content of certain compounds in the sample solution is a
spectrometer, a measuring instrument that can identify and quantify samples
accurately and easily. But there is one problem, this equipment is very
expensive, thus preventing students from getting education and developing an
interest in spectrometer technical tools. Affordable spectrometers used with the
right knowledge can give many researchers and students a big boost in educational
progress. This study aims to design and manufacture a spectrometer that is
affordable and easy to manufacture. This research succeeded in designing and
demonstrating an inexpensive absorption spectrometer made with a halogen lamp
as a light source, a slit made of a pair of razor blades, a 600 lp/mm diffraction
grating, and a webcam as a sensor. Experiments showed that the proposed
spectrometer has successfully demonstrated its application to measure the
correlation of malachite green concentrations with the absorbance of the
absorption peak at a wavelength of 615 nm. Calibration using a commercial
Biodrop spectrometer as a reference showed a strong correlation with R2 of
0.9984.
