Abstract
Banyaknya kombinasi penggunaan obat dan tingkat kejadian interaksi obat yang relatif tinggi terutama pada kelompok geriatri membutuhkan perhatian khusus di dalam pelayanan kefarmasian/Drug related issues, such as possible drug side effects and drug interactions are very sensitive in geriatric groups resulting increased morbidity and mortality. Identical geriatric patients suffer more than one kind of disease, so they need a lot of drugs to take. The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia is 51% age 45−64 years and 65% age ≥ 65. Diseases associated with aging, such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus and stroke, generally given treatment with drug therapy is polypharmacy. This research is a non−experimental study using descriptive methods and retrospective data collection. Data obtained from electronic prescriptions from January 2021 to December 2021 according inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data collection technique is random sampling. Prescription data analysis using Micromedex and Medscape to identify the level/severity of drug interactions. The results of data analysis showed severity of potential drug interactions was moderate level 74.6%; major level 22.8%; and minor level 2.6%, there were 230 drug pairs with the potential for drug interactions between antihypertensives and non−antihypertensive drugs, one of which is the drug group interaction between antihypertensives of 35.2%. The combinations drug use and the relatively high incidence rate of drug interactions, especially in the geriatric group, require special attention in pharmaceutical services.
