Abstract

Kesimpulan perawat mampu menerapkan komunikasi terapeutik dengan baik meskipun menggunakan alat pelindung diri selama masa pandemi Covid-19 / Covid-19 is a new disease caused by a coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. Covid-19 transmission to medical personnel, especially nurses in Indonesia, who were confirmed to have Covid-19 until June 2021 as many as 274 nurses who died and more than 15,000 other people were exposed to the Covid-19 virus. Nurses use personal protective equipment (PPE) to avoid transmission of Covid-19 and continue to provide good service to patients, especially in implementing therapeutic communication. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between the use of personal protective equipment and the application of therapeutic communication during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method uses a descriptive correlation design with a purposive sampling technique totaling 156 respondents. The instrument used is a questionnaire consisting of 36 questions via a google form. Data analysis used univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using chi square test with a significance level (α) = 0.05. The results obtained as many as 96 respondents (61.5%) support the use of personal protective equipment and apply therapeutic communication 85 (54.5%) well, p-value 0.155 (α > 0.05) which means Ho is rejected, so there is no relationship between the use of personal protective equipment with the application of therapeutic communication. The conclusion is that nurses are able to apply therapeutic communication well even though they use personal protective equipment during the Covid-19 pandemic
