Abstract
Pendidikan merupakan faktor penting bagi perkembangan seseorang serta menjadi hak setiap anak. Namun hingga saat ini masih banyak tantangan dalam pendidikan anak dengan Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Sementara itu, orang tua dengan peran pengasuhan yang besar juga merasakan tantangan yang ada serta membutuhkan banyak hal demi mendukung perkembangan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kebutuhan dan tantangan orang tua yang memiliki anak dengan ASD selaku pendamping utama selama proses anak bersekolah. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan menyebarkan kuesioner survei yang telah dibangun dan diuji oleh peneliti melalui try out. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 31 partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan dan tantangan orang tua berkaitan dengan tujuan mereka menyekolahkan anak, serta berbagai aspek lain, seperti materi atau finansial, sosial, kondisi fisik dan psikologis, kondisi anak, kondisi keluarga, program sekolah, dan lain-lain. Penelitian selanjutnya sebaiknya lebih berfokus untuk mengeksplorasi berdasarkan aspek yang lebih sedikit, serta memperbanyak jumlah partisipan dengan perbandingan antar karakteristik yang lebih setara, sehingga dapat membantu dalam analisa yang lebih mendalam./Education is an important factor for a person's development and is the right of every child. However, until now there are still many challenges in the education of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Meanwhile, parents with a large parenting role also feel the challenges that exist and need many things to support their child's development. This study aims to determine the needs and challenges of parents who have children with ASD as the main companion during the process of their children going to school. The method used is descriptive quantitative, by distributing survey questionnaires that have been built and tested by researchers through try outs. Participants in this study amounted to 31 participants. The results of the study show that parents' needs and challenges are related to their goals in sending their children to school, as well as various other aspects, such as material or financial, social, physical, and psychological conditions, children's conditions, family conditions, school programs, and others. Future research should focus more on exploring based on fewer aspects, as well as increasing the number of participants with a more equal comparison between characteristics so that it can assist in a more in-depth analysis.
