Abstract
Acknowledging the colleration between emotional intelligence, achievement
motivation, and performance is becoming essential so that the management of the company is
able to deliver a routine training or non training to the employee. By conducting the training,
the company has fulfilled employee’s right to enhance their potential. What is more, the
company as well as the employee’s quality performance remains high.
The study is using a correlative research where there has been no action conducted in
this research; the writer has offered advice that can boost the employee’s emotional
intelligence and achievement motivation. The research has involved forty respondents of PT.
Samson Tiara employees as the sample, using PT Samson Tiara’s main office in Jakarta, as
well as the training centre located in Cilegon.
The result of the study shows that there is a positive and significant correlation
between emotional intelligence, achievement motivation and employee’s performance.
Coaching is considered as the most effective method to improve employee’s emotional
intelligence and achievement motivation since it brings out permanent changes. / Memahami hubungan kecerdasan emosional dan motivasi berprestasi
dengan kinerja merupakan hal yang sangat penting sehingga pihak manajemen
perusahaan mampu memberikan pelatihan atau non pelatihan kepada karyawan
secara berkala. Jika Pelatihan ini dilakukan maka hak setiap karyawan untuk
selalu mengembangkan diri terpenuhi serta kinerja karyawan dan perusahaan akan
tetap terjaga kualitasnya.
Penelitian ini adalah penelitian yang bersifat korelatif sehingga tidak
dilakukan tindakan apapun dalam penelitian ini, peneliti hanya memberikan saran
yang dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan emosional dan motivasi berprestasi kepada
perusahaan. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap empat puluh responden sebagai sampel,
yang merupakan karyawan PT. Samson Tiara dan berlokasi di Jakarta sebagai
kantor pusat serta Training center yang bertempat di Cilegon.
Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah adanya hubungan yang positif dan
signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional, motivasi berprestasi dengan kinerja
karyawan. Coaching merupakan metode yang efektif untuk meningkatkan
kecerdasan emosional dan motivasi karyawan karena akan memberikan perubahan
secara permanen.
