Abstract
Memori jangka pendek digunakan untuk mempertahankan informasi yang diterima dari memori jangka panjang. Memori jangka pendek diperlukan oleh semua orang, termasuk proses belajar dalam perkembangan kognitif yang sesuai dengan usianya. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan memori jangka pendek adalah dengan musik klasik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mencari pengaruh musik klasik Violin Sonata no 18 in G KV301 karya Mozart. Validitas isi menggunakan Content Validity Index yang dilakukan tiga orang subject matter expert (CVI= 0,86). Alat ukur memori jangka pendek yang digunakan berupa dua set soal berisi 20 pasangan kata. Reliabilitas alat ukur diuji dengan Kuder Richardson~20 (r=0,95). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 29 siswa (13-15 tahun) yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu Kelompok Kontrol dan Eksperiman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok yang diberikan musik klasik dan tanpa musik (p>0,05). Hasil tersebut dapat dikarenakan adanya pemberian musik tidak sesuai referensi kesukaan subjek dan berdurasi 10 menit. Peneliti selanjutnya diharapkan memilih subjek berdasarkan preferensi musik yang disukai dan memberikan musik dengan durasi yang lama. Siswa dan guru dapat menggunakan musik kesukaan dan melakukan chunking untuk meningkatkan memori jangka pendek / Short-term memory is used to maintain information received from long-term memory. Short-term memory is needed by everyone, including learning in cognitive development that is appropriate for his age. One way to improve short-term memory is with classical music. This research was conducted with an experiment aimed at finding the influence of Violin Sonata classical music no 18 in G KV301 by Mozart. Reliability of the measuring instrument was tested with Kuder Richardson ~ 20 (r = 0.95). The subjects in this study were 29 students (13-15 years) who were divided into two groups, namely the Control and Experiment Groups. The results showed no significant difference between groups given classical music and without music (p> 0.05). These results can be due to the provision of music does not match the subject's favorite reference and lasts 10 minutes. The next researcher is expected to choose a subject based on their preferred music preferences and provide music with a long duration. Students and teachers can use favorite music and do chunking to improve short-term memory
