Abstract
Orang dengan stres ringan memiliki risiko sebesar 28% untuk mengalami gejala dispepsia, sedangkan orang dengan tingkat stres sedang dan berat memiliki faktor risiko untuk mengalami gejala dispepsia dengan masing-masing 59% untuk stres sedang dan 100% untuk stres berat./ Dyspepsia is a common complaint in clinical practice, in Indonesia, dyspepsia is ranked 5 out of the top 10 inpatient diseases and 6 out of top 10 outpatient diseases. Patients with dyspeptic symptoms who have not had a clinical investigation (eg endoscopy) are said to have uninvestigated dyspepsia (UD). One of the risk factors for dyspepsia is psychosocial dysfunction, such as stress. According to data from the American Psychologists Association (APA)'s 2020 Stress in America Survey, young adults reported the highest levels of stress compared to other age groups in 2020, therefore this study is conducted on young adults aged 18-24 years. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between stress and the incidence of uninvestigated dyspepsia. Researcher hypothesizes a relationship between stress and uninvestigated dyspepsia. This research is an unpaired categorical analytic comparative study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample is the general population of young adults aged 18-24 years as many as 64 samples. Sampling is done by consecutive sampling using google form with Perceived Stress Scale 10 (PSS) questionnaire and Rome III criteria. The data is summarized and processed using Microsoft Excel and analyzed using the SPSS 26.0 program. Statistical test using Chi Square method shows significant relationship with p-value of 0,011. People with mild stress have a 28% risk for experiencing dyspeptic symptoms, while people with moderate and severe stress have risk factors of 59% and 100%, respectively.
