Abstract

Christian education believes that education is a mission to spread the news of salvation. In teaching and learning, teacher is the agent to do that mission to the students. In this paper, the students that being discussed is alpha generation. Alpha generation is the generation that born and grow as a native to technology such as gadget and accesss it since the very beginning years of their life. The long duration of using gadget influence this generations’ behavior in learning. However, teaching and learning in school is continuously following the current condition of the Covid-19 pandemic. Through literature review and personal portfolio, this paper is arranged using qualitative descriptive method. In the midst of challenging in facing students’ behavior, teacher is expected to take specific role in the classroom. In this paper the role that being discussed is the role of the teacher as facilitator. It is found that teacher as facilitator means organizing activities, choosing the right strategies, reflecting the current needs and conditions, and teacher as facilitator should have the good classroom management. Taking role as facilitator has managed students’ behavior in using gadget in the classroom as it is seen from the mentor’s feedbacks to the researcher.
