Abstract
Penemuan fakta mengenai ketidakdisiplinan di kelas II SD yang berjumlah 20 siswa salah satu sekolah Kristen di Lampung menjadi latar belakang dari penulisan paper
ini. Banyak hal yang menjadi faktor penyebab ketidakdisiplinan siswa. Salah satunya faktor penyebabnya adalah kurangnya pemahaman siswa mengenai etika yaitu tentang apa yang baik dan yang buruk. Kecenderungan siswa adalah melakukan sesuatu yang buruk dikarenakan keberdosaannya sehingga segala aspek dalam dirinya rusak. Sehingga diperlukan peran guru Kristen sebagai rekan sekerja
Allah untuk membawa siswa pada perubahan sikap dan perilaku. Hal yang dapat dilakukan guru adalah dengan manajemen kelas, salah satunya adalah dengan menerapkan prosedur hand signals, dimana dengan prosedur ini siswa akan dilatih
untuk bisa disiplin dalam proses belajar mengajar. Adapun tujuan dari penulisan paper ini adalah untuk memaparkan mengenai penerapan hand signals dalam meningkatkan disiplin siswa menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Sehingga
mendapatkan kesimpulan bahwa jika guru terus menerus menerapkan hand signals dan memberikan teladan dalam kelas maka hand signals dapat mengatasi masalah hand signals. Saran bagi penelitian selanjutnya adalah untuk melakukan penelitian dengan jangka waktu yang lebih lama untuk mendapatkan hasil yang lebih maksimal mengenai pertumbuhan kedisiplinan siswa./ The discovery of facts about indiscipline in grade II, which consisted of 20 students
from a Christian school in Lampung, became the background for writing this paper. Many things are factors that cause student indiscipline. One of the contributing
factors is the lack of students' understanding of ethics, namely about what is good and what is bad. The tendency of students is to do something bad because of their
sinfulness so that all aspects of themselves are damaged. So that the role of Christian teachers is needed as God's co-workers to bring students to change attitudes and behavior. What teachers can do is with classroom management, one
of which is to apply the hand signals procedure, where with this procedure students will be trained to be disciplined in the teaching and learning process. The purpose
of writing this paper is to describe the application of hand signals in improving student discipline using descriptive qualitative methods. So that it can be concluded
that if the teacher continuously applies hand signals and provides an example in the classroom, then hand signals can solve the problem of hand signals. Suggestions
for further research is to conduct research with a longer period of time to get maximum results regarding the growth of student discipline.
