Abstract
Minat belajar merupakan salah satu aspek penting yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa dalam menjalankan proses pembelajaran. Harapannya siswa yang memiliki minat belajar akan memusatkan perhatian, menunjukan ketertarikan, keterlibatan, dan menimbulkan rasa senang ketika menjalankan proses pembelajaran. Namun faktanya, selama pembelajaran berlangsung, siswa menunjukan tindakan memukul-mukul meja, mengobrol di luar konteks pembelajaran, memberikan respon lemas, menyandarkan kepala di atas meja, serta berjalan dan berlari menghampiri meja siswa lain pada saat guru sedang menjelaskan. Maka dari itu, upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut yaitu dengan menerapkan metode demonstrasi. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini yaitu memaparkan penerapan metode demonstrasi dalam mendorong minat belajar siswa K2. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif deskriptif. Hasilnya perasaan senang siswa meningkat dari 78% menjadi 100%, perhatian siswa meningkat dari 22% menjadi 56%, ketertarikan siswa meningkat dari 56% menjadi 89%, dan keterlibatan siswa meningkat dari 33% menjadi 78%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode demonstrasi dapat mendorong minat belajar siswa K2. Sebagai saran, guru harus mampu memahami karakteristik siswa yang akan diajar, hal ini akan memudahkan guru untuk dapat memutuskan metode pembelajaran apa yang akan diterapkan. Guru juga dapat memanfaatkan alat permainan edukatif yang disediakan oleh sekolah untuk mendorong minat belajar siswa./ Interest in learning is one of the important aspects that must be possessed by students in carrying out the learning process. The hope is that students who have an interest in learning will focus their attention, show interest, involvement, and cause a sense of joy when carrying out the learning process. But in fact, during the lesson, students showed the act of hitting the table, chatting outside the learning context, giving a weak response, leaning their heads on the table, and walking and running to the table of other students while the teacher was explaining. Therefore, efforts are made to overcome these problems, namely by applying demonstration methods. The purpose of this study is to explain the application of the demonstration method in encouraging the interest in learning K2 students. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. As a result, student feelings of pleasure increased from 78% to 100%, student attention increased from 22% to 56%, student interest increased from 56% to 89%, and student engagement increased from 33% to 78%. So, it can be concluded that the demonstration method can encourage the interest in learning K2 students. As a suggestion, the teacher must be able to understand the characteristics of the students to be taught, this will make it easier for the teacher to be able to decide what learning methods to apply. Teachers can also take advantage of educational game tools provided by schools to encourage students' interest in learning.
