Abstract

Keaktifan belajar siswa sangat dibutuhkan dalam proses pembelajaran. Ketika siswa aktif dalam proses pembelajaran, maka siswa dapat menerima suatu informasi secara maksimal. Penelitian ini didasarkan pada hasil observasi di kelas XI IPA yang menunjukkan bahwa keaktifan belajar siswa belum optimal. Hal ini terlihat pada saat peneliti menerapkan berbagai metode pembelajaran siswa terlihat tidak menyatakan pendapat, tidak mengajukan pertanyaan, tidak menjawab pertanyaan, tidak melaksanakan instruksi yang diberikan dan tidak melaksanakan diskusi kelompok dengan sungguh-sungguh. Pada saat siswa bekerja di dalam kelompok, siswa cenderung mengerjakan tugas kelompok secara individu. Peneliti memutuskan untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together dalam mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa melalui penerapan tahapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Robert P. Pelton dengan 5 tahapan yaitu identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan dan hasil penilaian. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas XI IPA dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 12 siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 16 Agustus-27 September 2018. Sumber data penelitian yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data pada variabel model pembelajaran adalah angket siswa dan jurnal refleksi peneliti. Sumber data yang digunakan untuk variabel keaktifan belajar siswa adalah lembar checklist guru mentor, angket siswa, jurnal refleksi peneliti dan umpan balik guru mentor. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa kelas XI IPA di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Medan dengan tahapan sebagai berikut: penomoran, pengajuan pertanyaan, berpikir bersama, pemberian jawaban dan pemberian kesimpulan./ The activeness of student learning is essential in the learning process. When students are active in the learning process, students can receive information effectively. This study is based on the results of observations in a 11 Science classroom which showed that learning activeness of students not optimal. When researchers applied various learning methods, students did not seem to express opinions, did not ask questions, did not answer questions, did not follow instructions given, and did not carry out group discussions seriously. When students work in groups, students tended to do group assignments individually. The researcher decided to apply the Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning model to overcome that problem. The purpose of this research is to improve students’ learning activeness through applying the steps of cooperative learning models type Numbered Heads Together. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) model of Robert P. Pelton with five steps, issue identification, data collection, action planning, plan activation and outcome assessment. The study was conducted in a 11 Science classroom on August 16 to September 27, 2018. The sources of data used on the learning model variables were students’ questionnaires, researcher’s journal reflection and teacher mentor’s feedback. The sources of data used for student learning activeness variables are teacher’s mentor checklist sheets, student questionnaires, researcher’s journal reflection and teacher mentor’s feedback. The result of the study concluded that the NHT cooperative learning model could improve the learning activeness of 11 Science students at one of the Christian schools in Medan with the following steps: numbering, questioning, heads together, answering and conclusion could improve students grade XI Science’s activeness in Christian school in Medan.
