Investment has a huge impact on the economic growth of a country, especially a region. However, an investment activity can not only benefit business or investment actors and the local government, but also the surrounding community whose territory is used for investment activities because sometimes an investment activity does not see the community aspect so that people feel neglected and have no certainty or concern legal protection. Therefore, the author examines how legal protection is for people whose areas are used as investment activities in the mining sector in North Sulawesi Province and how the role of local governments in providing legal protection to the community in investment activities in the mining sector in North Sulawesi Province, where the purpose of This research is to make legal discoveries in protecting the community whose territory is used for investment activities in North Sulawesi Province and to solve legal problems that occur in the role of local governments in providing legal protection to the community in investment activities in the mining sector in North Sulawesi Province.
