Abstract
The transition of online to onsite learning affected students behavior in the classroom. Based on the writer’s observations in grade III at a Christian school in West Jakarta, students tended to show disrespectful behavior in class. The purposes of this writing are to explain the factors that caused primary students disrespectful and how teacher implement cooperative learning to improve students' respect. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This is important for Christian teacher as a guide to follow up. Thus, cooperative learning method is applied to solve the above problems. The steps taken are; 1) dividing students into groups, 2) giving missions to students 3) explaining expectations to students, 4) giving group presentation time 5) giving appreciation and reflect after class. As result, students showed mutual respect to teacher and their peers through group work, support each other, listen, and give appreciation. In conclusion, this method is suitable to be applied because it supports students to improve a class community that respects each other. Suggestion for future research is to combine cooperative learning with activities that make students think critically because it will encourage students to have better experiences in learning/Peralihan pembelajaran online ke onsite mempengaruhi perilaku siswa selama mengikuti pembelajaran di kelas. Berdasarkan hasil observasi penulis pada kelas III di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Jakarta Barat, terlihat bahwa siswa cenderung menunjukkan perilaku tidak menghargai dalam kelas. Perilaku tersebut tidak hanya ditunjukkan kepada guru, namun juga kepada sesama teman kelas mereka. Maka, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan faktor penyebab siswa tidak respek dan bagaimana guru menerapkan cooperative learning untuk meningkatkan respek siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Dengan demikian, penulis menerapkan metode cooperative learning sebagai upaya penyelesaian masalah di atas. Langkah-langkah yang diambil adalah; 1) membagi siswa dalam kelompok, 2) memberikan misi kepada siswa 3) menjelaskan ekspektasi kepada siswa, 4) memberikan waktu presentasi kelompok 5) memberikan apresiasi dan mengajak siswa merefleksikan pembelajaran. Hasilnya, siswa mampu menunjukkan sikap respek kepada guru dan sesama melalui pengerjaan kelompok, saling mendukung, mendengarkan, dan memberikan apresiasi. Sebagai kesimpulan, metode ini cocok untuk diterapkan karena mendukung siswa membangun komunitas kelas yang saling respek. Saran untuk penelitian ke depan adalah mengkombinasikan cooperative learning dengan aktivitas yang membuat siswa berpikir kritis karena dapat mendorong siswa memiliki pengalaman lebih baik dalam pembelajaran.
