Abstract

Pengalaman mengajar siswa kelas IX SMP Kristen Kalam Kudus Yogyakarta menunjukkan kurangnya keaktifan belajar siswa dalam proses pembelajaran materi IPA. Siswa lebih cenderung pasif karena kurangnya keterlibatan siswa dalam melaksanakan tugas belajarnya sehingga menunjukkan sikap kurang aktif dalam belajar. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, peneliti menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD (Student Team Achievement Division). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Robert P. Pelton yang dilakukan selama dua kali penerapan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 16 Juli 2018 - 02 November 2018. Subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas IX-B yang berjumlah 24 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yaitu lembar angket, jurnal refleksi, lembar umpan balik mentor dan rencana proses pembelajaran (RPP). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang diperoleh dari seluruh instrumen yang digunakan dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode STAD dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa kelas IX pada materi pembelajaran IPA. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada hasil rata-rata keseluruhan indikator keaktifan belajar pada angket siswa dari pelaksanaan dan pembelajaran pertama sebesar 65,3% menjadi 83,3% pada pelaksanaan dan pembelajaran kedua./ The experience of teaching students in class IX Kalam Kudus Christian Middle School Yogyakarta showed a lack of student learning activity in the learning process of science subject. Students tend to be passive because of a lack of student involvement in carrying out their learning tasks so that they show a less activity attitude in learning. To overcome this problem, researchers applied the STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) type of cooperative learning model. The research method that is uses is the Action Class Research with Robert P. Pelton model done in two implementation. The experiment was held on July 16th until November 02th, 2018. The subject of this research was 24 students in a classroom. The instrument used to collect data are questionnaire form, journal reflection, mentor feedback form, and learning process plan. Based on the results of data analysis obtained from all instruments used it can be concluded that the STAD method can increase the learning activeness of class IX students in science learning. This result can be seen from the average overall indicator of learning activeness in the student questionnaire increased from 65,3% to 83,3%.
