Abstract

Kehadiran serial televisi Narcos sebagai produk media massa mampu menjadi wadah aspirasi masyarakat dan memberikan efek yang signifikan dalam proses penyampaian pesan. Hal ini membuat peneliti tertarik untuk menggunakan Narcos sebagai subjek penelitian. Ditambah lagi dengan adanya sederetan makna tersembunyi, simbol-simbol yang ditampilkan secara audio dan visual, dialog, backsound, dan unsur sinematografi dalam setiap adegan yang dapat dianalisis secara semiotik sehingga dapat diketahui pesan maupun kritik sosial yang terkandung di dalam serial televisi Narcos season 1. Penelitian dengan judul “Analisis Semiotika Gaya Kepemimpinan Pablo Escobar Dalam Serial Televisi Narcos Season 1” bertujuan untuk mengetahui gaya kepemimpinan yang digunakan oleh Pablo Escobar yang tergambarkan pada serial televisi Narcos season 1. Peneliti menggunakan metode analisis semiotika Roland Barthes yang menggunakan denotasi dan konotasi sebagai tahap pemberian makna serta mitos yang melatar belakangi dan membantu pemaknaan dari sebuah tanda. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat digunakan untuk memperkaya literatur mengenai kritik sosial dan studi semiotika yang tergambarkan melalui elemen elemen film dalam serial televisi./ As a product of media, this TV series became a place for people to channel in their aspirations and has had a significant effect on the process of delivering messages as well. This interest the researcher in making Narcos as the subject of this research. The series of hidden meanings, signs shown in both audio and visual, dialogue, back sound, and cinematography elements in each scene can be analyzed with semiotic theory, which shows the messages and social criticism in Narcos Season 1. The study “Semiotic Analysis of Pablo Escobar’s Leadership Style in the Television Series Narcos Season 1” aims in finding out Pablo Escobar's leadership style portrayed in the television series Narcos Season 1. The researcher using Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis method that uses denotations and connotations as a stage of giving meaning as well myths that underlie and help the meaning of a sign. The result of this study can be used to enrich the literature on social criticism and semiotic studies portrayed through the cinematography elements in television series.
