Abstract
Latar Belakang: Pola asuh demokratis adalah pola asuh dimana orang tua bersifat tegas, disiplin, berkomunikasi dua arah, dan memberi dukungan emosional yang dibutuhkan anaknya. Pola asuh orang tua yang demokratis memengaruhi perilaku mengonsumsi minuman beralkohol dan merokok pada anaknya. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara pola asuh demokratis dan konsumsi alkohol dan rokok. Adanya kontraindikasi tersebut membuat penelitian ini perlu untuk dilakukan. Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan pola asuh demokratis dengan konsumsi alkohol dan rokok pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2019-2021. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode potong lintang (cross�sectional). Sampel sebanyak 262 orang mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2019–2021 yang dipilih menggunakan teknik sampel acak sederhana (simple random sampling). Pengambilan data akan dilakukan Januari–Maret 2022. Hasil penelitian diolah dengan program SPSS 22.0 dan metode chi-square. Hasil : dari 262 sampel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi, tidak ditemukan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara pola asuh demokratis dengan gangguan konsumsi alkohol (p value 0,653 > 0,05, Odds Ratio (OR): 0,476, 95% Confidence Interval (CI): 0,78-2,895) dan konsumsi rokok (p value 0,367 > 0,05, Odds Ratio (OR): 1,981, 95% Confidence Interval (CI): 0,514–7,646). Kesimpulan : Pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan Angkatan 2019-2021, sebanyak 58,02% mengalami pola asuh demokratis dari sudut pandang, 1,91% mengalami gangguan konsumsi alkohol ringan, dan 4,2% merupakan perokok sedang. Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pola asuh demokratis dengan gangguan konsumsi alkohol dan konsumsi rokok. / Background : Authoritative parenting style is a parenting style in which parents are firm, disciplined, communicate in two directions, and provide the emotional support their children need. Authoritative parenting patterns influence the behavior of consuming alcoholic beverages and smoking in their children. Some studies show that there is no significant relationship between authoritative parenting style and consumption of alcohol and cigarettes. The existence of these contraindications makes this research necessary to do. Objective : To determine the relationship between authoritative parenting style and alcohol consumption and smoking among students of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Pelita Harapan class 2019-2021. Method : This study used a cross-sectional method. A sample of 262 students of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Pelita Harapan class 2019-2021 were selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data collection will be carried out from January to March 2022. The results of the study were processed using the SPSS 22.0 program and the chi-square method. Result : From the 262 samples that met the inclusion criteria, there was no significant relationship between democratic parenting and alcohol consumption disorders (p value 0.653 > 0.05, Odds Ratio (OR): 0.476, 95% Confidence Interval (CI): 0.78 -2.895) and cigarette consumption (p value 0.367 > 0.05, Odds Ratio (OR): 1.981, 95% Confidence Interval (CI): 0.514-7.646). Conclusion : Of the medical students of Pelita Harapan University batch 2019- 2021, as many as 58.02% experienced democratic parenting from the children’s point of view, 1.91% had mild alcohol consumption disorders, and 4.2% were moderate smokers. There is no significant relationship between democratic parenting and alcohol consumption disorders and cigarette consumption.
