Kelapa sawit Indonesia tidak selalu bisa diterima oleh semua negara, salah satunya negara tujuan ekspor CPO Indonesia yaitu Uni Eropa. Uni Eropa menetapkan kebijakan terkait isu kelapa sawit dan melakukan kampanye hitam. Dampak dari kebijakan yang dilakukan Uni Eropa ini berdampak kepada terhambatnya kegiatan ekspor CPO ke Uni Eropa. Penelitian ini akan mengupas serta menjelaskan mengenai apa saja isu kelapa sawit Indonesia yang ada di Uni Eropa dan bagaimana usaha Indonesia khususnya melalui diplomasi yang telah dilaksanakan untuk menghadapi isu tersebut. Penulis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori Neoliberalisme, pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dan identifikasi untuk membantu mengerjakan dan menyelesaikan penelitian ini. Konsep yang penulis gunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Ketergantungan, Diplomasi Ekonomi dan Kepentingan Nasional. Hasil dari penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa Indonesia telah melakukan beragam upaya positif dalam menghadapi isu kelapa sawit di Uni Eropa seperti melakukan diplomasi ekonomi dengan negara penghasil kelapa sawit lainnya, sertifikasi ISPO, dan pembantahan tuduhan negative NGOs. Kebijakan Uni Eropa mengenai kelapa sawit tidak hanya merugikan Indonesia, namun Uni Eropa sendiri terkena dampaknya karena Uni Eropa masih membutuhkan CPO Indonesia dan ancaman terjadinya inflasi / Indonesia palm oil is not always acceptable to all countries, one of which is the country of export destination of Indonesia CPO namely the European Union. The EU sets policies on the negative issue of palm oil and conducts black campaigns. The impact of this EU policy impacts the impediment of CPO export activities to the European Union. This research will explore and explain what are the issues of Indonesian palm oil in the EU and how Indonesia’s efforts, especially through diplomacy that has been implemented to deal with the issue. The authors in the study used the theory of Neoliberalism, a qualitative approach using descriptive research methods and identification to help work on and complete this research. The concept that the author uses in this study is Interdependency, Economic Diplomacy and National Interest. The results of this study prove that Indonesia has made a variety of positive efforts in dealing with the issue of palm oil in the European Union such as conducting economic diplomacy with other palm oil producing countries, ISPO certification and denial of negative NGOs allegations. The EU policy on palm oil not only hurts Indonesia, but the EU itself is affected because the EU still needs Indonesia’s CPO and the threat of inflation.
