Abstract

Using the internet to search for health information can have benefits, but it can also contribute to health anxiety. Previous studies have found that health anxiety has a relationship with cyberchondria related to information search results on the internet. One of the characteristics of health anxiety and cyberchondria is anxiety, which is also a feature of neurotic traits. This research is a descriptive quantitative research method with a moderation test conducted on 335 young adult participants on Java Island. The results showed that neuroticism moderate the relationship between health anxiety and cyberchondria. Also, health anxiety was associated with cyberchondria and neuroticism was associated with cyberchondria. Then, there were differences in the levels of health anxiety, neuroticism and cyberchondria between men and women.
