Abstract

Tingginya potensi gempa di Indonesia menuntut infrastruktur di Indonesia untuk didesain tahan gempa menggunakan material yang memiliki performa baik ketika terjadi gempa, seperti baja. Namun, struktur baja tahan gempa di Indonesia masih sangat jarang ditemukan. Maka agar struktur yang didesain memiliki dasar yang tepat, contoh stuktur dari AISC akan digunakan sebagai dasar perencanaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merencanakan struktur baja tahan gempa, berupa gedung kantor 4 lantai yang berlokasi di Jakarta dengan menggunakan sistem ganda/dual system dan special moment frame sebagai sistem pemikul gaya seismiknya, dengan mengacu pada contoh struktur AISC. Metode penelitian ini terdiri dari mengimplementasikan contoh struktur AISC, menganalisis struktur terhadap beban gravitasi, menganalisis karakteristik seismik struktur, merencanakan dual system (terdiri dari special concentrically braced frame dan special moment frame), dan merencanakan special moment frame. Perencanaan dual system dan special moment frame mencakup analisis overstrength, strong column weak beam, dan bracing capacity analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa contoh struktur AISC tidak dapat langsung digunakan di Jakarta sehingga perlu dilakukan modifikasi sistem pemikul gaya seismik. Modifikasi yang dilakukan adalah dengan mengubah ordinary concentrically braced frame pada contoh AISC menjadi dual system pada penelitian ini, dan mengubah ordinary moment frame pada contoh AISC menjadi special moment frame. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa analisis yang menentukan sistem pemikul gaya seismik dual system adalah overstrength dan bracing capacity analysis, sementara analisis yang menentukan special moment frame adalah kriteria strong column weak beam. / The high possibility for earthquake in Indonesia demands for infrastructures to be earthquake resistant with material that performs well during earthquake, such as steel. Even so, earthquake resistant steel structures in Indonesia is still very uncommon. Hence to create a strong foundation for the design in this study, a structure example from AISC will be used as a design basis. This study aims to design an earthquake resistant structure, which is a 4-floor office building located in Jakarta using dual system and special moment frame as the seismic load resisting systems, while referring to the AISC structure example. The research methodology starts from implementing the AISC structure example, analyzing the structure against gravity loads, analyzing the seismic characteristics of structure, designing the dual system (consists of special concentrically braced frame and special moment frame), and designing special moment frame. The dual system and special moment frame design consists of overstrength, strong column weak beam, and bracing capacity analysis. Study result shows that the AISC structure example can’t be used as it is in Jakarta, modifications on the seismic load resisting system are needed. The modifications done are changing the ordinary concentrically braced frame from the AISC example into dual system in this study, and changing the ordinary moment frame from the AISC example into special moment frame. Moreover, it is found that the limiting analysis for the dual system design are overstrength and bracing capacity analysis, while the limited analysis for special moment frame is strong column weak beam criteria.
