Abstract

Penggunaan media sosial memiliki berbagai dampak positif dan dampak negatif bagi penggunanya. Salah satu contoh dampak positif yang timbul akan penggunaan media sosial adalah mudahnya pertukaran informasi dan komunikasi antar pengguna media sosial. Sedangkan untuk dampak negatif penggunaan media sosial adalah adiksi atau kecanduan media sosial hingga berujung pada phubbing. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah envy, fear of missing out, life satisfaction, dan social media influencer memengaruhi social media addiction serta membahas apakah social media addiction memengaruhi phubbing. Pengolahan data pada tugas akhir ini menggunakan SEM-PLS untuk menganalisis data survei dari 307 responden dengan rentang usia 13 sampai 35 tahun. Metode yang digunakan pada tugas akhir ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan non-probability purposive sampling. Hasil yang didapatkan pada tugas akhir ini adalah envy, fear of missing out, dan social media influencer secara signifikan memengaruhi social media addiction dan social media addiction sendiri memengaruhi phubbing. Namun terdapat salah satu faktor yang secara tidak signifikan memengaruhi social media addiction, yaitu life satisfaction. / The use of social media has positive and negative impacts on its users. One of the positive impact of using social media is the easy exchange of information and communication between social media users. Meanwhile, the negative impact of using social media is addiction that leads to phubbing. This final project aims to determine whether envy, fear of missing out, life satisfaction, and social media influencers affect social media addiction and discuss whether social media addiction affects phubbing. Data processing in this final project uses SEM-PLS to analyze survey data from 307 respondents with the age ranging from 13 to 35 years. The method used in this final project is a quantitative method using non-probability purposive sampling. The results obtained in this final project are envy, fear of missing out, and social media influencers significantly affect social media addiction and social media addiction itself affects phubbing. However, there is one factor that does not significantly affect social media addiction, namely life satisfaction.
