Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada hasil observasi di kelas VIII SLH di Labuan Bajo yang menemukan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam pemahaman konsep. Hasil tes siswa menunjukkan 44% siswa yang tidak lulus mencapai standar KKM. Sehingga untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa dilakukan penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe SFaE. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe SFaE dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa dan mengetahui penerapan langkah-langkah SFaE dalam meningkatka pemahaman konsep siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) model Pelton dilaksanakan dalam dua kali penerapan tindakan dan setiap penerapan berlangsung dalam dua kali pertemuan sesuai dengan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada 29 Agustus - 29 Oktober 2018. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 19 siswa yang terdiri atas 9 siswa laki-laki dan 10 siswa perempuan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah umpan balik mentor, observasi terbuka mentor, angket siswa, tes siswa dan jurnal refleksi. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan sebanyak dua kali penerapan tindakan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan SFaE dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Indikator 1 sebesar 84 % dan 84%, indikator 2 sebesar 84% menjadi 100%, dan indikator 3 sebesar 100% dan 100%. Penerapan SFaE menolong siswa memahami konsep melalui guru dan teman sebaya, dimana peneliti dapat menyajikan materi dengan menggunakan power point (PPT), video dan membuat diagram alir di papan tulis lalu memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk menjelaskan kembali ide atau pemahamannya kepada siswa lainnya. / This study was based on observations in class VIII SLH in Labuan Bajo which found that students experienced difficulties in understanding concepts. Student test results showed that 44% of students did not pass the standard. So to improve students' conceptual understanding of the human respiratory, the implementation of SFaE type cooperative learning is used. This study aims to determine the application of SFaE type of cooperative learning in improving students' conceptual understanding and knowing the application of SFaE steps in improving students' conceptual understanding. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) by Pelton model in two times of teaching, and each implementation takes place in two meetings according to the plan of implementation of learning in 29 August - 29 October 2018. The subjects of this study were 19 students consisting 9 male students and 10 female students. The instruments used were mentor feedback, mentor’s observation, students’ questionnaires, tests and reflection journals. The results of the research conducted in two times of implementation, and it showed that the implementation of SFaE can improve students' conceptual understanding. Indicator 1 is 84% and 84%, indicator 2 is 84% to 100%, and indicator 3 is 100% and 100%. The SFaE helps students understand concepts through teachers and peers, where researchers can present material using power points (PPT), video and make flow diagrams on the board then provide opportunities for students to re-explain their ideas or understandings to other students.
