Abstract
Disiplin belajar merupakan aspek penting dalam proses belajar-mengajar.
Dengan disiplin, siswa akan terlibat dalam aktivitas pembelajaran sehingga tujuan
pembelajaran dapat tercapai dengan baik. Sebaliknya, tanpa disiplin tujuan
pembelajaran akan sulit dicapai. Berdasarkan observasi penulis selama proses
identifikasi masalah, masalah yang terjadi adalah disiplin belajar siswa.
Permasalahan tersebut adalah siswa memotong penjelasan guru saat sedang
menjelaskan materi dan menyebabkan keributan dalam kelas dan menyebabkan
siswa yang ingin konsentrasi dalam pembelajaran pun menjadi terganggu. Untuk
mengatasi masalah disiplin belajar tersebut, peneliti menggunakan metode turn
taking untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan metode turn taking dapat
meningkatkan disiplin belajar siswa kelas I di salah satu SD Kristen di Tangerang
dan bagaimana langkah yang diterapkan.
Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas
(PTK) model Pelton. Penelitian berlangsung selama dua kali penerapan. Subjek
penelitian adalah siswa kelas 1 SD berjumlah 21 orang. Instumen yang digunakan
dalam penelitian ini adalah Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), feedback
mentor, jurnal refleksi penulis dan checklist mentor untuk mengamati teknik turn
taking yang diterapkan penulis dalam kelas dan pencapaian disiplin belajar siswa.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa metode turn taking dapat
menigkatkan disiplin belajar siswa. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan kenaikan presentase
disiplin belajar dari penerapan pertama 66,67% menjadi 100% pada penerapan
kedua. Metode turn taking yang meningkatkan disipin belajar siswa diakukan
sesuai dengan langkah-langkah yang ditetapkan dan dengan perbaikan memberi
konsekuensi yang tegas pada siswa dan penulis melakukan secara konsisten./Discipline in learning is an important aspect of the teaching and learning
process. With discipline, students will be involved in learning activities so that
learning objectives can be achieved properly. Preferably, without discipline in
learning objectives will be difficult to achieve. Based on the observation of the
author during the learning process the problem that occurs is student learning
discipline. The problem is that students cut off the teaccher while explaining the
material and cause noise in the classroom and cause students who want to
concentrate on learning to be disturbed. To overcome the problem of learning
discipline, researcher used the turn taking method to find out whether the
application of the turn taking method could improve the discipline of learning for
grade I students in one of the Christian elementary schools in Tangerang and how
the steps were implemented.
The study was taken using Pelton's Classroom Action Research (CAR)
model. The application lasted twice. The research subjects were grade 1 elementary
school students totaling 21 people. The instruments used in this study are the
Lesson Plan, feedback mentor, reflection journal and mentor checklist to observe
the turn taking techniques applied by the author in the class and the achievement
of student learning discipline.
The results of the study show that the turn taking method can improve
student learning discipline. This is indicated by the increase in the percentage of
learning discipline from the first application of 67% to 100% on the second
application. The turn taking method that increases the discipline of student learning
is carried out in accordance with the steps set and with improvements to have strict
consequences for students and writers doing consistently.
