Abstract

Penggunaan huruf kapital dan tanda baca merupakan salah satu aspek yang sangat penting dalam menyampaikan pikiran, perasaan, ataupun pesan melalui tulisan. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang telah terjadi di dalam kelas yaitu mayoritas siswa belum mampu menggunakan huruf kapital dan tanda baca terkhususnya pada kelas III SD, peneliti melakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menggunakan huruf kapital dan tanda baca melalui penerapan metode drill. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), subjek penelitian ini adalah 24 siswa kelas III SD. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua kali penerapan yaitu penerapan I dan II. Terjadi peningkatan pada 23 siswa (96 %) dalam mencapai indikator 1 dan 20 siswa (83%) dalam mencapai indikator 2. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode drill dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menggunakan huruf kapital dan tanda baca pada siswa kelas III SD. /The use of capital letters and punctuation are one the important aspects in delivering thoughts, feeling, or messages in written form. Based on the problems that happened in the classroom especially for third graders, the research did a research with a purpose to improve students’ ability in using capital letters and punctuation through drill method. This research use classroom action research (CAR); the subject was 24 students in the third grade. The research was conducted in two implementations which were implementation I and II. The result of this research showed the improvement in indicator 1 for 23 students 96% and the indicator 2 for 20 students 83%. So, it can be conducted that drill method can improve students’ ability in using capital letters and punctuation for third graders.
