Abstract

Pemahaman konsep merupakan hal yang paling mendasar untuk mencapai kesuksesan pembelajaran di dalam kelas, bukan hanya mengetahui atau mengingat suatu konsep namun dapat menjelaskan kembali konsep tersebut dengan cara sendiri tanpa menghilangkan makna yang terkandung didalamnya. Fakta yang terjadi bahwa siswa belum mampu memahami atau kesulitan menyerap konsep dari materi yang dijelaskan. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) mengetahui metode tutor sebaya dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada topik perbandingan dua besaran kelas V SDK Gunungsitoli, 2) menjelaskan langkah-langkah metode tutor sebaya dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada topik perbandingan dua besaran kelas V SDK Gunungsitoli Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dikembangkan oleh Robert P. Pelton. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SDK Gunung Sitoli dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 33 orang, yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 21 September dan 09 Oktober 2018. Sumber data yang digunakan peneliti adalah umpan balik mentor, check list, jurnal refleksi, dan hasil tes dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deksriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep. Peningkatan tersebut terlihat dari hasil tes siswa pada pertemuan pertama dan kedua, dengan persentase jumlah siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 91% meningkat menjadi 97% pada indikator pertama, 67% meningkat menjadi 88% pada indikator kedua, dan 85% meningkat menjadi 94% pada indikator ketiga. Oleh karena itu, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan metode tutor sebaya pada topik perbandingan dua besaran kelas V SDK Gunungsitoli diterapkan dengan baik, sehingga dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. /Understanding the concept is the most basic thing to achieve the goals in the learning process. Not only knowing or remembering a concept but the students are able to re-explain the concept in the students own way without losing the meaning contained in it. Facts that occur that students have not been able to understand or have difficulty absorbing concepts from the material described. Therefore, the objectives of this study are: 1) knowing peer tutor methods can increase students understanding of concepts in the topic of two magnitude comparison in class V of SDK Gunungsitoli, 2) explain the steps of peer tutor methods can increase students understanding of concepts in the topic of two magnitude comparison in class V of SDK Gunungsitoli. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) developed by Robert P. Pelton. The research subjects were class V students at GunungSitoli SDK with 33 students, held on September 21 and October 9 2018. The data sources used by researchers were mentor feedback, check lists, reflection journals, and test results using analytical techniques. descriptive. The results of this study indicate an increase on students understanding of concepts. The increase can be seen from the results of student tests in the first and second meetings, with the percentage of students completing 91% increasing to 97% in the first indicator, 67% increasing to 88% in the second indicator, and 85% increasing to 94% in the third indicator . Therefore, the researcher concluded that the implementation of the peer tutoring method on the topic of the comparison of the two classes of grade V SDK Gunungsitoli was applied well, and it is improving students' conceptual understanding.
