Abstract

During the process of learning, it was found that grade B students at SKL Ambarawa lacked of discipline. It disturbed the classroom environment to study conducively. The researcher decided to implement classroom rules to solve the problem. The purposes of this research are to know whether or not the implementation of classroom rules improves Grade B students’ discipline at SKL Ambarawa and to explain how the implementation of classroom rules improves Grade B students’ discipline at SKL Ambarawa. The method of this research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), which steps are based on Pelton done in four meetings on implementation. The subject of the research was 18 Grade B students of SKL Ambarawa. The sources of data for this research are mentor’s feedback, mentor’s checklist, mentor’s interview and researcher’s personal reflection. The result of this research proved that the implementation of classroom rules improves Grade B students’ discipline for minimum 80% in each indicator; students showed self-control and obedience, students managed time effectively and responsibly, and learning process could be done conducively. The steps used to implement the classroom rules are: set the classroom rules, set the consequences, clearly communicated the classroom rules and consequences in both verbal and written forms to the students, reminded students about the classroom rules and consequences continuously, be firm and consistent and giving reinforcement to the students. In conclusion, the implementation of classroom rules could improve Grade B students’ discipline at SKL Ambarawa. /Selama proses pembelajaran, ditemukan bahwa siswa kelas B di SKL Ambarawa kurang disiplin. Hal tersebut mengganggu lingkungan kelas untuk belajar dengan kondusif. Oleh karena itu, peneliti memutuskan untuk menerapkan peraturan kelas untuk mengatasi masalah kedisiplinan di dalam kelas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan peraturan kelas dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa kelas B di SKL Ambarawa dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan peraturan kelas dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa kelas B di SKL Ambarawa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), menggunakan langkah-langkah Pelton, yang dilakukan dalam empat kali pertemuan penerapan. Subyek penelitian adalah 18 siswa kelas B SKL Ambarawa. Sumber-sumber data yang dipakai untuk penelitian ini adalah umpan balik mentor, checklist mentor, wawancara mentor, dan refleksi peneliti. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa penerapan peraturan kelas dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa kelas B dengan persentasi minimum 80% pada setiap indikatornya; siswa menunjukkan pengendalian diri dan kepatuhan, siswa mengatur waktu secara efektif dan bertanggungjawab, dan proses pembelajaran dapat dilaksanakan dengan kondusif. Langkah-langkah yang digunakan dalam penerapan peraturan kelas adalah: menetapkan peraturan kelas, menetapkan konsekuensi, menyampaikan peraturan kelas dan konsekuensi secara lisan dan tertulis dengan jelas secara terus-menerus, tegas dan konsisten, serta memberikan penguatan kepada siswa. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan peraturan kelas dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa kelas B di SKL Ambarawa.
