Abstract
Berdasarkan hasil selama tujuh kali pertemuan mengajar yang dilakukan
peneliti didapatkan masalah yang ada yaitu rendahnya disiplin belajar siswa.
Sikap yang ditunjukkan yaitu siswa tidak melaksanakan instruksi guru, kurang
fokus saat pembelajaran, berbicara hal yang tidak berkaitan dengan pembelajaran,
tidak konsisten menerapkan hand signal, dan tidak menyelesaikan tugas tepat
waktu. Berdasarkan studi literatur dan diskusi dengan guru mentor, peneliti
memilih menerapkan reward dan consequence untuk meningkatkan disiplin
belajar siswa. Pada pembukaan di setiap pertemuan, peneliti menyampaikan
kesepakatan mengenai reward dan consequence, indikator mendapatkan sertifikat
“siswa disiplin”, dan jurnal refleksi sebagai konsekuensi.
Model penelitian yang dilakukan adalah PTK model Pelton, yang
pelaksanaannya dari 10 Agustus 2018 hingga 26 Oktober 2018. Penelitian
dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali penerapan, di setiap penerapan terdapat dua
pertemuan. Sumber data yang digunakan yaitu RPP, umpan balik guru mentor,
jurnal refleksi, dan lembar ceklis. Dalam menganalisis sumber data tersebut,
peneliti menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif.
Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa disiplin belajar
siswa meningkat dengan diterapkan reward dan consequence. Peningkatan
tersebut ditunjukkan melalui pencapaian indikator besar yaitu menaati peraturan
dan prosedur kelas 100%, tanggung jawab 100%, dan penguasaan diri 100% pada
lembar ceklis penerapan III. Dengan kata lain, penerapan reward dan consequence
dapat melatih siswa berperilaku disiplin sehingga menjadi kebiasaan dan tanpa
adanya paksaan atau sogokan. / According to the teaching result from the previous seven meetings, researcher
found a problem that the students were lack of learning discipline. The students
showed these attitudes in classroom: did not listen to teacher's instructions, did not
focus on learning, talked about unrelated things to the lesson, did not apply hand
signals consistently, and did not complete the assignments on time. After the
researcher did a study on some literatures and had discussions with mentor teacher
the researcher decided to implement reward and consequence to improve students’
earning discipline. At the very beginning of each meeting, the researcher
conveyed an agreement regarding reward and consequence, indicators to get
“student's discipline” certificate and reflection journal as the consequence.
The research method used by the researcher is Classroom Action Research
Model by Pelton. The research was conducted from August 10, 2018 until
October 26, 2018. There were three action planning, each action planning took
two meetings. The data resources were lesson plan, mentor's feedback, reflection
journal, and checklist. In analyzing the data from the sources, the researcher used
qualitative descriptive analysis technique.
Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that students’
learning discipline improved by applying reward and consequence. The
improvement is indicated by 100% achievement from each indicator based on
checklist from the third action planning, those are obeying class rules and
procedures, responsibility, and self-control. In other words, the implementation of
reward and consequence can train students to be discipline so that becomes a habit
without being forced or bribed.
