Abstract

Proses pembelajaran yang ideal di dalam kelas dirancang untuk memaksimalkan hasil belajar siswa. Pada kenyataannya hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas XI IPS pada pembelajaran Ekonomi menunjukan persentase keberhasilan yang rendah. 75% dari keseluruhan siswa tidak mencapai nilai KKM yang ditentukan oleh sekolah pada pembelajaran Ekonomi, yaitu 70. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas XI IPS pada pembelajaran Ekonomi. Adapun tujuan lainnya mengetahui cara penerapan langkah-langkah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Model penelitian tindakan kelas yang digunakan merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas menurut Robert P. Pelton yang meliputi lima tahapan yaitu identfikasi masalah, pengumpulan data perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan dan hasil penilaian. Subyek penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah 17 siswa kelas XI IPS di salah satu Sekolah Kristen di Medan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari 08 Oktober sampai 22 Oktober 2018. Pada saat penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD, persentase jumlah siswa yang lulus KKM dalam satu kelas menunjukkan peningkatan sebanyak 23 % dari 10 siswa menjadi 14 siswa yang lulus KKM. Selain itu, persentase penguasaan materi secara rata-rata menunjukan peningkatan dari 68% menjadi 78 % yang dikategorikan optimal yang artinya sudah melampaui batas minimal kriteria 75% penguasaan materi pembelajaran yang ditetapkan. Referensi: 32 (2005-2018). / The ideal learning process in the classroom is designed to maximize students’ learning outcomes. In fact, the students’ cognitive learning outcomes of grade XI IPS in Economics subject showed a low percentage of success. 75% of the students did not reach the score of Minimum Completion Criteria determined by the school in Economics subject, which is 70. This research purpose is to know the implementation of cooperative learning model using STAD type to improve grade XI IPS students’ cognitive learning outcomes in Economics. Another purpose is to know the steps of how to implement the STAD cooperative learning model. The classroom action research model used is Class Action Research according to Robert P. Pelton that includes five stages, which are problem identification, data collection of action planning, action implementation and outcome assessment. The subjects of this classroom action research were 17 students of grade XI IPS at one of the Christian Schools in Medan. This research was conducted from October 8 to October 22, 2018. During the implementation of STAD type of cooperative learning model, the percentage of students who passed the Minimum Completion Criteria improved 23% from 10 students to 14 students. Besides that, the percentage of the material mastery on average improved from 68% to 78% which is categorized optimal, which means it has exceeded the minimum criteria of 75% mastery of the learning material.
