Abstract
Pembelajaran dapat dikatakan berhasil ketika siswa mampu menguasai materi dan tujuan pembelajaran yang telah direncakan tercapai. Tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran terlihat dari hasil tes siswa yang mencapai KKM yang ditentukan yaitu 75. Namun pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh peneliti di kelas XII IPS di Sekolah Kristen Tunas Kasih Tarakan belum berhasil karena sebagian besar siswa belum mampu mencapai KKM ketika mengikuti tes. Sebagai seorang guru yang bertanggung jawab atas perkembangan siswa di dalam kelas, peneliti menerapkan metode Drill untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan metode Drill dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas XII IPS di Sekolah Kristen Tunas Kasih Tarakan pada mata pelajaran matematika. Peneliti menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Pelton dengan 2 kali penerapan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Kristen Tunas Kasih Tarakan dengan subjek 20 siswa kelas XII IPS yang berlangsung dari 1 Oktober 2018 hingga 16 Oktober 2018. Instrument yang digunakan peneliti oleh peneliti yaitu umpan balik guru mentor, lembar observasi check-list teman sejawat, juranal refleksi, dan lembar tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan hasil belajar kognitif pada penerapan 1 sebesar 55%. Pada penerapan 2 sebanyak 75% siswa mencapai ketuntasan hasil belajar kognitif. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode Drill dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas XII IPS Sekolah Kristen Tunas Kasih Tarakan. / Teaching and learning process is considered achieved when students could master the material and the lesson objective that has been planned. The attainment of the lesson objectives can be seen through the students’ test result that pass the passing grade set, which is 75. However, the teaching and learning conducted by the researcher in class XII IPS in Sekolah Kristen Tunas Kasih Tarakan has not been achieved because most of the students could not pass the passing grade on their test. As a teacher who responsible with the development of the students in the
classroom, the researcher implemented Drill to overcome the problem. The purpose of the research is to know the implementation of Drill Method to improve class XII IPS students’ cognitive achievement in Sekolah Kristen Tunas Kasih Tarakan on Mathematics. The researcher used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) model of Pelton in 2 implementations. The research was done in Sekolah Kristen Tunas Kasih Tarakan involving 20 students of class XII IPS from October 1, 2018 to October 16, 2018. The instruments used by the researcher were mentor feedback, peer’s observation checklist sheet, reflection journal, and test sheet. The result of the research showed that the students who passed the passing grade of the cognitive achievement on first implementation was 55%. On the second implementation, 75% of the students passed the passing grade of the cognitive achievement. Based on that result, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Drill method improved the class XII IPS students’ cognitive achievement in Sekolah Kristen Tunas Kasih Tarakan.
