Abstract
Hasil belajar merupakan aspek penting dalam pembelajaran karena melalui hasil belajar akan terlihat penguasaan terhadap materi ajar. Salah satu indikator hasil belajar adalah melalui ketuntasan minimal (KKM) yang ditetapkan sekolah. Oleh karena itu siswa diharapkan dapat memenuhi ketuntasan minimal tersebut. Pada kenyataannya, selama observasi peneliti menemukan bahwa hanya terdapat 13 orang siswa yang hasil tesnya memenuhi KKM dari 33 orang siswa yang mengikuti tes sementara 20 siswa lainnya tidak mencapai KKM atau dengan persentase kelulusan hanya mencapai 39%. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas menurut Pelton. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari 16 Juli 2018 – 27 Agustus 2018. Penerapan metode pembelajaran drill dilakukan dalam satu kali penerapan dengan tiga kali pertemuan di mana setiap pertemuan berdurasi 2x45 menit. Dua pertemuan pertama adalah berlangsungnya proses pembelajaran sementara pertemuan terakhir diadakannya tes. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA BOPKRI 1 Yogyakarta dengan jumlah siswa 33 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah feedback, lembar observasi, dan jurnal refleksi untuk mengukur umpan balik penerapan metode pembelajaran drill dan instrumen tes untuk mengukur hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah penerapan metode pembelajaran drill dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa dan bagaimana penerapan metode pembelajaran drill tersebut dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas XII IPS pada materi statistika. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran drill dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas XII IPS SMA BOPKRI 1 Yogyakarta dari 39% menjadi 81,81% atau peningkatannya mencapai 42,81% dengan menerapkan langkah�langkah metode pembelajaran drill yaitu: 1) memulai dari yang sederhana; 2) guru terlebih dahulu memberikan contoh; 3) siswa melakukan latihan secara berulang�ulang; 4) selama latihan, perhatikan bagian-bagian yang sulit dirasa oleh sebagian siswa; 5) ulangi bagian-bagian yang sulit tersebut sampai mereka menguasainya; 6) memperhatikan perbedaan siswa./ Cognitive achievement is an important aspect in learning process because cognitive achievement shows students’ mastery of lmaterial. One of the indicators of cognitive achievement is passing grade which has been determined by school. Therefore students are expected to reach the passing grade. However in the reality, during the observation the researcher found that there were only 13 out of 33 students whom test result reached passing grade while 20 students did not pass the passing grade and it means the percentage of students who pass the passing grade is 39%. The research method used in this research is Classroom Action Research with Pelton model. This research was conducted from July 26th 2018 – August 27th 2018. The implementation of drill method was done once in 3 meetings in which the duration of every meeting was 2x45 minutes. The learning process was done in first and second meeting meanwhile the test was done in the last meeting. The research was conducted at SMA BOPKRI 1 Yogyakarta with 33 students. The instruments used in this research to measure the implementation of drill method are feedback, observation form, reflection journal, and the instrument to measure students’ cognitive achievement is test instrument. The purpose of this research is to know whether the implementation of drill method can improve students’ cognitive achievement and how the implementation of drill method can improve students’ cognitive achievement of XII Social Science class students in statistics topic. According to the research conducted, the researcher concluded that the implementation of drill method can improve students’ cognitive achievement in XII Social Science class at SMA BOPKRI 1 Yogyakarta from 39% becomes 81,81% and the improvement is 42,81%. It done by implementing all steps of drill method which are: 1) start by simple form; 2) teacher gives examples; 3) students do exercise repeatedly; 4) while doing exercise, pay attention in difficult part; 5) repeat difficult part until students understand it; 6) pay attention to students’ difference.
