Abstract
Sambung nyawa merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman yang memiliki berbagai manfaat, salah satunya sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji aktivitas antibakteri daun Sambung nyawa dari berbagai macam ekstrak terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dan Staphylococcus epidermidis. Proses ekstraksi dilakukan secara bertingkat menggunakan metode refluks dengan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat, dan etanol 70%. Dalam mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri, pengujian dilakukan dengan metode mikrodilusi cair untuk pengujian KHM dan dilusi padat untuk pengujian KBM. Pengujian ketiga ekstrak yang telah terstandarisasi memberikan aktivitas antibakteri yang berbeda terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dan Staphylococcus epidermidis. Ekstrak etanol 70% menjadi ekstrak yang paling efektif dalam menghambat dan membunuh bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dan Staphylococcus epidermidis dengan KHM sebesar ≥ 12.5 µg/mL dan KBM sebesar ≥ 50 µg/mL dan ≥ 25 µg/mL. / Sambung nyawa is a type of plant that has various benefits, one of which is as an antibacterial. This research was conducted to test the antibacterial activity of the leaves of sambung nyawa from various extracts against bacteria Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The extraction process was carried out in stages using reflux methode with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and 70% ethanol as solvents. In knowing the antibacterial activity, the test was carried out using the liquid microdilution for MIC testing and solid dilution for MBC testing. Testing of the three standardized extracts gave different antibacterial activity against bacteria Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis. Ethanol extract 70% is the most effective extract in inhibiting and killing bacteria Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis with MIC of ≥ 12.5 µg/mL and MBC of ≥ 50 µg/mL and ≥ 25 µg/mL.
