Abstract
tempat tanaman. / Coffee is the second most consumed beverage in the world. Based on International Coffee organization (ICO) data, coffee consumption in Indonesia reached 8.22% yearly in 2016-2021 and has reached up 300,000 ton of coffee consumed in the year 2020/2021. The high interest and demand in coffee means that the waste produced also increases. However, processing coffee waste has not been widely practiced, even though coffee waste has a lot of potential. If left unprocessed, coffee ground can pollute the environment since waste coffee ground can produce toxins and methane gas. Therefore, this research was conducted to utilize coffee ground waste as additional materials in clay, which then applied to become a useful and functional product into a self-watering planter. The study will begin by conducting secondary research regarding the material through literature research and analyzing data from previous research. Primary research will be carried out through a series of experiments and material explorations, followed by interviews with experts, a series of studies and user reviews. Through the research conducted, 2 planter alternatives will be produced that are suitable for different planting needs, Coffee Cavity Planter for planting
houseplants with outer wall feature and Coffee Groove planter for planting moss and microgreens with grooves along the surface of the planter as the space to plant it.
