Abstract

ABSTRAK Christabel Jovita (01025180010) PEMANFAATAN RAMBUT RONTOK ANJING SEBAGAI MATERIAL AKSESORIS ANJING (xii + halaman: gambar, tabel; lampiran) Seiring perkembangan jaman, dunia juga ikut berkembang dan mengalami kemajuan dari waktu ke waktu. Oleh karena itu, masyarakat pun ikut berusaha untuk mencari solusi dan inovasi demi menyesuaikan jaman yang selalu berubah. Salah satu perubahan yang membawa dampak besar bagi sebagian besar orang ialah Covid-19. Tidak sedikit dari kita yang mengalami penurunan kesehatan mental karena kesulitan menghadapi suatu perubahan yang cukup besar dalam waktu yang singkat. Karena itu banyak masyarakat di Indonesia yang memilih untuk memelihara hewan peliharaan sebagai solusi untuk menemani dan memperbaiki kesehatan mental mereka. Salah satu hewan peliharaan yang paling banyak diminati oleh masyarakat di Indonesia adalah anjing. Memelihara anjing pastinya bukan suatu hal yang mudah, banyak faktor yang harus diperhatikan, terutama faktor kebersihan. Masalah utama yang pemilik anjing sering temui ialah kerontokan rambut anjing yang menyebar dimana mana. Peneliti membuat suatu eksperimen yang berkaitan dengan limbah hewan peliharaan itu sendiri. Peneliti mengumpulkan semua data data mengenai rambut anjing dan cara mengolahnya yang sudah dilakukan oleh peneliti lain menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian digunakan menggunakan rambut rontok dari beberapa jenis anjing berbeda (Dachshund, Poodle, Pom, Golden Retriever, Samoyed, hingga Mix Breed) demi mendapatkan hasil yang menyeluruh. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mencoba melakukan percobaan eksplorasi pencampuran ukuran rambut, pencampuran jenis rambut, beberapa teknik jahit, teknik kepang serta penambahan struktur agar aksesoris dapat menjadi lebih kokoh, dari kesimpulan yang didapat, peneliti mendapati komposisi baik untuk membuat suatu produk fungsional anjing dari rambut anjing itu sendiri adalah dengan mencampurkan 70% rambut anjing (5gr) dan 30% rambut domba (1gr) sehingga mendapat komposisi yang kokoh dan rapi. Dalam penelitian ini misi utama peneliti ialah mengubah limbah anjing menjadi suatu material mentah yang dapat digunakan menjadi material pembuatan produk fungsional untuk anjing itu sendiri, selain itu produk tersebut juga dapat berubah fungsi menjadi peninggalan atau memento yang dapat disimpan selamanya. Kata kunci: Rambut rontok anjng, Aksesoris anjing, Memento / ABSTRACT UTILIZATION OF FALLEN DOG HAIR AS THE MAIN MATERIAL FOR DOG ACCESSORIES Along with the times, the world is also developing and progressing from time to time. Therefore, the community is also trying to find solutions and innovations to adapt to the ever-changing times. One of the changes that has had a big impact on most people is Covid-19. The majority of us have experienced a decline in mental health because of the difficulty in dealing with big changes in a short time. Because of that many people in Indonesia choose to keep pets as a solution to accompany and improve their mental health. One of the pets that people in Indonesia are most interested in is dog. Raising a dog is certainly not an easy thing, there are many factors that must be considered, especially the hygiene factor. The main problem that dog owners often encounter is dog hair loss which spreads everywhere. The researcher made an experiment related to the pet waste itself. The researcher collected all data regarding dog hair and how to process it which had been done by other researchers using qualitative research methods. The researcher used hair loss from several different breeds of dogs (Dachshund, Poodle, Pom, Golden Retriever, Samoyed, to Mix Breed) to obtain comprehensive results. In this study, researchers tried to conduct exploratory experiments on mixing hair lengths, mixing hair types, several sewing techniques, braiding techniques and adding structure so that accessories could become more sturdy. From the conclusions obtained, researchers found a good composition for making a functional dog product is to mix 70% dog hair (5gr) and 30% sheep hair (1gr) to get a sturdy and neat composition. In this study the main mission of the researchers was to turn dog waste into a raw material that can be used to make functional products for the dogs themselves, besides that these products can also change functions into relics or mementos that can be stored forever.
