Abstract
‘Colorful Mind’ adalah sebuah cerita pendek yang dibuat dari sudut pandang orang ketiga. Cerita ini dilandasi dari permasalahan bahwa stigma edukasi masih mementingkan pelajaran logis dibandingkan pelajaran yang kreatif atau abstrak seperti seni. Hal ini berujung pada sistem edukasi yang mementingkan logika di atas segala-galanya dan memandang rendah bidang kreatif, sehingga anak-anak pun terpaksa untuk mementingkan jalur akademik dalam bidang logis dibandingkan bidang kreatif, meskipun bukan itulah keinginan dan gairah mereka yang sebenarnya. Berbekal tema tersebut sebagai bagian dari moral cerita, perancangan karya film animasi ‘Colorful Mind’ bermaksud menjadi dorongan bagi anak-anak untuk mengikuti kata hati serta gairah mereka dalam bidang seni tanpa perlu terkekang stigma masyarakat yang kuno. Dengan perancangan desain yang menarik menggunakan teori-teori serta riset yang valid, perancangan visualisasi konsep untuk film animasi ‘Colorful Mind’ diharapkan untuk bisa berkomunikasi kepada pengamatnya secara efektif melalui aspek-aspek visualnya, sehingga makna cerita bisa tersampaikan dengan mudah kepada pengamat yang berupa anak-anak berusia 7-8 tahun. / The short story titled ‘Colorful Mind’ is a story made in third person point of view. Its story was created based on the problem that education still prefers logic over anything else and therefore looks down on creative intelligence. This stigma forces kids to focus their efforts on logic-based academic subjects compared to subjects on creativity, even though this might not be their true calling. Using this theme as the moral of the story, the making of the movie ‘Colorful Mind’ aims to support kids of this generation to pursue their passion and calling for art without being influenced by the outdated stigma that exists in society. By creating its design using valid research and theories, the concept art for ‘Colorful Mind’ is expected to communicate effectively to its viewers through its visual aspects so that the message of the story may be easily delivered to its audience, which is composed of 7-8 year old children.
