Abstract
The National Library of the Republic of Indonesia, founded in 1989, is a non- ministerial government institution used as an information literacy center to serve the interests of society. In addition to its function as a library, the National Library of Indonesia also provides various facilities to accommodate the needs of various age groups. Hence, the complexity of this 24-floor building can confuse visitors when navigating. Therefore, an environmental graphic design (EGD) is needed to help visitors gain information, identify, and direct them when doing activities. Environmental graphic design is a form of communication and an extension of brand identity, which includes graphic design, architecture, interior design, and others. The EGD design process is supported by five phases: collecting and analyzing data, conducting conceptual design to determine visual concepts and keywords, the design phase, and the prototype production phase. This design will optimistically create a coherent and consistent EGD and solve society's confusion when carrying out activities within the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia.
