Abstract
Makalah bertujuan membahas rancangan tata artistik dan peran penata artistik dalam konsep perancangan film pendek "The Value of Imperfection". Film pendek diproduksi pada tahun 2023 dan mengangkat tema disabilitas disleksia, sebuah disabilitas yang menyebabkan seorang individu kesulitan dalam membaca dan menulis. Tata artistik dalam film "The Value of Imperfection" bertujuan untuk merepresentasikan kendala yang dialami oleh individu dengan disleksia dalam adaptasinya dengan lingkup pendidikan di sekitarnya, terutama pada kalangan yang kurang memiliki wawasan lebih mengenai disabilitas ini. Selain itu, tata artistik bertujuan untuk membangun suasana dan informasi melalui visual yang didukung dengan pemanfaatan elemen mise-en-scene. / This paper aims to discuss artistic design aspects and role responsibility in concept creation of short film, “The Value of Imperfection”. This short film is produced in 2023 and took up the theme of dyslexia, a disability that cause an individual to experience difficulties in reading and writing. Artistic design concept in “The Value of Imperfection” aims to create representation of difficulties that a dyslexic individual experience in adapting with education system, especially within a less educated environment about disabilities. Artistic design also aims to construct context and information through visual presentasion using elements of mise-en-scene.
