Abstract
Apart from being known as an archipelagic country, Indonesia is also known for its diversity of ethnicities, races, traditions and cultures, and the island of Borneo, especially the Province of West Borneo, is no exception. West Borneo itself has many stories from early life in tropical forests to the lives of local people today. In the development of its society, West Borneo consists of three dominant ethnicities namely, Malay, Dayak and Chinese. This third tribe then creates beauty and harmony in diversity. However, the emergence of the era of globalization brought changes to people's lifestyles in a more modern direction. As a result, people tend to choose foreign and new cultures that are considered more practical than local cultures. To be able to maintain and maintain the existing culture, the government and a group of people have begun to build places such as historical sites, museums, and places where culture and communities gather. However, there are still many places that are less attractive for young people.
To respond to the issues previously described, in this design the author intends to describe efforts to handle Indonesian culture, especially West Borneo in this era of globalization through an interior design project at the West Kalimantan Provincial Museum with a narrative approach. The research technique used is a single case study research method with narrative structure theory and multisensory. The results of the design of the West Kalimantan Provincial Museum were then tested for success through feedback between sources of feedback with data and theories that had been collected. After going through the research stages, it can be concluded that the design has been able to answer the issues and design objectives.
