Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil kuis dan ulangan siswa yang dilakukan oleh peneliti terhadap kelas VII SMP BLH ditemukan bahwa sebagian besar siswa memiliki pemahaman konsep yang rendah pada mata pelajaran IPA. Rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yang salah satunya adalah penggunaan metode ceramah yang kurang efektif dalam mengakomodir keberagaman siswa. Dalam upaya untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, peneliti memutuskan untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching dan mengetahui langkah penerapan model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian berlangsung selama dua siklus dari tanggal 29 Oktober 2015 hingga 03 November 2016. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP BLH yang berjumlah 18 orang siswa. Hasil data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisi deskriptif kualitatif dan perhitungan kuantitatif sederhana. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah catatan lapangan guru mentor, wawancara guru mentor, lembar observasi guru mentor, lembar angket siswa, lembar kuis siswa, dan jurnal refleksi. Data dari seluruh instrumen memberikan keterangan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching yang terdiri dari enam langkah pelaksanaan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas VII SMP BLH pada mata pelajaran IPA khususnya pada materi perubahan materi. / Based on the result of students‟ quiz and daily test result conducted by researcher at class VII SMP BLH, found that most of the students have a low conceptual understanding in natural science subject. This poor conceptual learning caused by some factors, one of the factors is teaching method that focused on lecturing that was not effective to accommodate students‟ diversity in learning. In order to solve this problem, researcher decided to implement Quantum Teaching model in learning process. The aims to this research are to to increase students‟ conceptual understanding through the implementation of Quantum Teaching model and to know the steps of the implementation of Quantum Teaching model in order to increase students‟ conceptual understanding. The method of this research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was done in SMP BLH, in Lampung. This CAR consisted of two cycles, and had been conducted on October 29 – November 3, 2015. Subject of this research are class VII‟s students SMP BLH that consisted 18 students. To analyse the data, researcher used a qualitative descriptive and simple quantitative calculation analysis techniques. The instruments that used in this CAR research were the field notes, observation sheets, students‟ questionnaire sheets, teacher‟s interview guidance sheet, students‟ quiz sheet, and reflection journal. Every data from each instrument shows that the implementation of Quantum Teaching model that consist six steps could increase class VII‟s students‟ conceptual understanding in natural science subject, especially in materials changes topic.
