Abstract
Berdasarkan pengalaman mengajar yang peneliti lakukan di kelas VIII di
SMP XYZ Lippo Village, peneliti menemukan bahwa sebagian besar siswa
kurang aktif dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Peneliti memutuskan untuk
menerapkan kombinasi metode ceramah dengan cerdas cermat sebagai solusi atas
masalah ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa melalui
penerapan kombinasi metode ceramah dengan cerdas cermat dan mengetahui
langkah-langkah penerapan kombinasi metode ceramah dengan cerdas cermat
dalam meningkatkan keaktifan siswa.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK)
yang berlangsung sejak 8 Oktober 2015 sampai 26 November 2015 dengan
subyek penelitian sejumlah 24 siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus
dengan menggunakan instrumen pengumpulan data berupa lembar observasi
penerapan kombinasi metode ceramah dengan cerdas cermat, lembar observasi
keaktifan siswa, lembar angket siswa, dan jurnal refleksi peneliti. Data yang
diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif.
Hasil yang diperoleh dari instrumen penelitian menunjukkan terjadi
peningkatan keaktifan siswa melalui penerapan kombinasi metode ceramah
dengan cerdas cermat. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan
kombinasi metode ceramah dengan cerdas cermat dapat meningkatkan keaktifan
siswa kelas VIII pada topik sistem pernapasan. Tahapan penerapan kombinasi
metode ceramah dengan cerdas cermat adalah penyajian kelas, mengorganisasikan
siswa ke dalam kelompok, belajar dalam kelompok, menyampaikan peraturan dan
prosedur cerdas cermat, memberikan pertanyaan, menulis dan mengakumulasi
poin kelompok, penghargaan kelompok, dan penutup berupa penarikan
kesimpulan. / Based on researcher‟s teaching experience in grade VIII at XYZ JHS
Lippo Village, researcher found that most of students were low in activeness in
teaching and learning activity. Researcher decided to implement the combination
of lecture method with cerdas cermat to solve this problem. This research was
aimed to check whether the implementation of combination of lecture method
with cerdas cermat could improve the grade VIII students‟ activeness, and also to
know the way combination of lecture method with cerdas cermat is impelemented
so that the students‟ activeness could improve.
The method of this research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) that
began on October 8th, 2015 until November 26th, 2015 with 24 students as the
research subjects, and lasted for two cycles. The instruments used to obtain the
data are observation sheet of the implementation of combination of lecture
method with cerdas cermat, observation sheet of students‟ activeness, student
questionnaire sheet, and reflective journal. The technique used to analyze the data
is descriptive statistics.
The results show that the students‟ activeness is improved through the
implementation of combination of lecture method with cerdas cermat. So, the
conclusion is the implementation of combination of lecture method with cerdas
cermat could improve the grade VIII students‟ activeness in the topic of
respiratory system. The way of the implementation of the combination of lecture
method with cerdas cermat is present the class, organize students into groups,
work in groups, deliver cerdas cermat rules and procedures, ask questions, write
and accumulate groups‟ score, appreciate the group, and close the class with the
conclusion.
