Abstract
Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest Muslim population among other Muslim countries. There is an interest in Islamic Syariah law in consuming, using, utilizing, and using products that must be sourced from halal ingredients. It is in the interest of the Islamic community to be given certainty by the state through legal protection. Through Law on JPH No. 33 of 2014, it is hoped that it can effectively provide the state's role to its citizens so that they can be protected for their interests in halal certainty for the circulation of consumer goods products in Indonesia. In this final project's research, researchers used qualitative methods that were supported by primary data collected through interviews and secondary data collected through library research. In collecting primary data, researchers conducted interviews with one of the LPH institutions, namely LPPOM MUI DKI JAKARTA. It can also be said that this final project's research is normative-empirical. The results of the discussion of this study are related to the inability of consumers of the Islamic community in Indonesia to ensure the halalness of a product. With state intervention based on the enactment of the JPH Law through the establishment of BPJPH, which plays a role in organizing halal product guarantees in Indonesia, this shows that the state has played a role in ensuring protection for the interests of consumers of the Islamic society in Indonesia. In creating consumer protection for the certainty of halal products in Indonesia, BPJPH is assisted by several other stakeholders who also play an important role in the implementation of halal product guarantees, such as LPH, MUI, and business actors who can ensure the running of the halal process in producing products that will be circulated in the community. The conclusion in this study is that through BPJPH, the state can play an active role in implementing halal product guarantees for the distribution of various types of products that will be consumed, used, and utilized by the Islamic community. Suggestions from researchers suggest that the state is obliged to maintain synergy between authorized institutions in implementing halal product guarantees in Indonesia.
