Abstract
memenuhi mutu teknis media visual. /Based on the observation made by researcher, found that students have
difficulty in understanding and visualizing abstract concepts of matter. This
suggests that students need learning resources that can concretize abstract concept
that is being studied. Because learning resources in schools are minimal, the
researcher plans the image visual media that will be displayed via a projector and
puzzle. It is aimed to see whether the students' conceptual understanding of the
abstract concept of matter can be enhanced through the use of visual media or not.
Researcher use the PTK method. Research conducted from September 21st
to September 23
th, 2015. Research that was conducted lasts as much as two cycles
with the number of students involved as many as 32 students. The instruments
used in this research are worksheet, student questionnaire sheet, mentor
observation sheets, and researcher reflection journal. In analyzing the instruments,
researcher use descriptive statistical analysis techniques and descriptive
qualitative analysis.
From the research conducted, it can be concluded that the students'
conceptual understanding can be enhanced through the use of visual media that
can be seen from the increase in student test results. Visual media that is used to
enhance the students' conceptual understanding is a visual media that attracted the
attention of students, increase the effectiveness and efficiency of learning, and
meet the technical quality of the visual media.
