Abstract
Entrepreneurs are individuals that takes on risks in order to operate and organize a business in order to generate financial profit by selling customers their products and services. Moreover, more entrepreneurs in certain areas are linked to the increase to established business ownership, small to medium business enterprises and business activities which contributes to a country's GDP more than that of large companies. Moreover, entrepreneurship can balance out and fight off unemployment rate which is one of the major challenges Indonesia is currently facing due to its nature of creating opportunities for the population to have a job. Furthermore, it is hypothesized that for an individual to be an entrepreneur, one needs an entrepreneurial intention which is a purposely planned behavior of an individual to become an entrepreneur and starting a new business. The entrepreneurial intention of an individual can be influenced positively or negatively by multiple factors such as the family environment which the individual are exposed to. Therefore, this research aims to confirm and study whether family environment which includes variables such as promotion of independence and promotion of volitional functioning from parents, entrepreneurial role model and family support for financial capital and social capital are able to show a positive correlation towards an individual's entrepreneurial intention. The purpose of this research is to find the variables affecting one's entrepreneurial intention positively and spreading the knowledge of the findings to the world especially parts of Indonesia that needs working opportunities.
