Abstract
Keterlibatan siswa merupakan suatu hal yang penting dalam pembelajaran.
Sikap siswa untuk mau terlibat langsung akan membuahkan sebuah pengalaman.
Saat siswa mengalami langsung, ia akan lebih mengingat pembelajaran itu
dibandingkan bila ia hanya berdiam diri mendengarkan penjelasan dari guru.
Namun realitanya adalah siswa yang peneliti amati cenderung tidak mau terlibat
langsung sehingga pembelajaran cenderung pasif. Untuk mengatasi hal itu peneliti
menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif time token. Model ini menciptakan
suatu kondisi pembelajaran yang mengharuskan siswa untuk terlibat langsung lewat
penggunaan kupon bicara sehingga keterlibatan siswa dapat meningkat dan siswa
dapat mengalami secara langsung pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang peneliti
pakai adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Taggart
yang berlangsung tiga siklus. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SLH Medan pada kelas XI
IPA dari tanggal 8 Oktober-12 November 2015. Peneliti menggunakan instrumen
berupa lembar observasi guru mentor dan lembar wawancara guru mentor dan
siswa. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif time
token dengan beberapa variasi penggunaan media seperti media powerpoint dan
torso dan adanya reward-punishment cukup mendukung pembelajaran dan
berdampak meningkatnya keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Oleh sebab itu
maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif time token
merupakan model yang tepat digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa. / Student engagement is an important thing in learning. The attitude of the students
to get involved directly will produce an experience. When students have direct
experience, he will remember learning it than if he just sat there listening to the
explanation from the teacher. But the reality is that the researchers observed
students tend not to get involved directly, so the learning tend to be passive. To
overcome this, researchers used the method time token. This method creates a
learning conditions that require students to engage directly through the use of
coupons speak so that student engagement can improve and students can experience
firsthand learning. The research method that researchers use a method of classroom
action research (PTK) Kemmis and Taggart models that lasted three cycles.
Research conducted at SLH Medan in grade XI science of the date of October 8 to
November 12, 2015. The researchers used the instrument in the form of mentor and
teacher observation sheet sheet mentor teacher and student interviews. Based on
this research, the use of methods time token with some variations in the use of
media such as media powerpoint and torso and the reward-punishment enough
support learning and the increasing impact student engagement in learning.
Therefore it can be concluded that the method of time token is an appropriate
method used to increase student engagement.
