Abstract
Students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) who have barriers to communication and social interaction still need to learn to socialize within the school and community environment. Differences in the communication behavior of ASD students at school with teachers and peers will certainly affect the dynamics of their interactions. This study aims to provide an overview of the dynamics of ASD student interaction in learning activities at SD Karakter by using Howard Giles' Communication Accommodation Theory. The research method used is a case study by observing interactions between teachers and ASD students and interactions between peers and ASD students. The data collection techniques used were participant observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The validity of the data was tested using source triangulation to check research data through confirmation of interviews with school directors, school principals, and school psychologists. The results showed that there were four patterns of convergence or divergence interactions that occurred between ASD teachers and students. These interaction patterns include listening, correcting, helping, and managing. As for the interactions that occur between peers and ASD students, there are three convergence or divergence interaction patterns. These patterns are reminding, imitating, and rejecting. / Siswa dengan gangguan spektrum autisme (ASD) yang memiliki hambatan dalam komunikasi dan interaksi sosial tetap perlu belajar bersosialisasi di dalam lingkungan sekolah maupun masyarakat. Perbedaan perilaku komunikasi siswa ASD di sekolah dengan guru maupun teman sebaya tentu akan memengaruhi dinamika interaksi mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai dinamika interaksi siswa ASD dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di SD Karakter dengan menggunakan Teori Akomodasi Komunikasi dari Howard Giles. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni studi kasus dengan mengamati interaksi antara guru dan siswa ASD serta interaksi antara teman sebaya dan siswa ASD. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah observasi partisipan, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Keabsahan data diuji menggunakan triangulasi sumber untuk memeriksa data hasil penelitian melalui konfirmasi wawancara terhadap direktur sekolah, kepala sekolah, dan psikolog sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat pola interaksi konvergensi atau divergensi yang terjadi antara guru dan siswa ASD. Pola interaksi tersebut diantaranya adalah mendengarkan, mengoreksi, membantu, dan mengelola. Adapun dalam interaksi yang terjadi antara teman sebaya dan siswa ASD terdapat tiga pola interaksi konvergensi atau divergensi. Pola tersebut yaitu mengingatkan, meniru, dan menolak.
