Abstract

Mahasiswa harus mampu meningkatkan motivasi dalam dirinya sehingga dapat menjalankan proses belajar dengan lebih optimal. Namun, motivasi belajar dapat dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor baik internal maupun eksternal. Salah satu faktor yang dapat memengaruhi motivasi belajar adalah faktor eksternal seperti kualitas hubungan romantis di masa berpacaran yang sedang mereka alami. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh dari kualitas hubungan romantis di masa berpacaran terhadap motivasi belajar mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan instrumen penelitian Relationship Assessment Scale dan Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 152 orang partisipan yang merupakan mahasiswa aktif di Universitas X Tangerang dan diperoleh berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara kualitas hubungan romantis di masa berpacaran dengan motivasi belajar pada mahasiswa dengan korelasi sebesar 0.499. Semakin tinggi kualitas hubungan romantis di masa berpacaran maka semakin tinggi pula motivasi belajar mahasiswa. Pada penelitian ini diketahui pula bahwa kualitas hubungan romantis di masa berpacaran mampu memberikan sumbangan kontribusi penjelasan sebanyak 12,8% terhadap variasi motivasi belajar mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah diperoleh, diberikan saran secara teoritis pada pengembangan keilmuan psikologi dan saran praktis bagi mahasiswa, pasangan yang menjalin hubungan romantis, orang tua, para dosen, pihak universitas, serta pihak yang terkait lainnya. / Students must be able to increase motivation in themselves so that they can carry out the learning process more optimally. However, learning motivation can be influenced by many factors both internal and external. One of the external factors that can affect learning motivation is the quality of romantic relationship they have. Therefore, this study aims to see the influence of the quality of dating relationships on student learning motivation. This research uses quantitative methods with the Relationship Assessment Scale and Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) research instruments. The number of samples in this study was 152 participants who were active students from University X at Tangeang and were obtained based on purposive sampling techniques. The results showed a positive and significant correlation between the quality of romantic relationships and study motivation in students with coefficient of 0.499. The higher the quality of romantic relationships, the higher the student's learning motivation. In this study, it is also known that the quality of romantic relationships is able to influence an explanatory contribution of 12.8% to variations in student learning motivation. Based on the research results that have been obtained, it can be provided a theoretical recommendation on the science of psychology and practical suggestions for students, couples who are in a romantic relationship, parents, lecturers, university leaders, and other related parties.
