Abstract
Pariwisata berasal dari bahasa Sansekerta yang terdiri dari dua suku kata, yaitu “pari” dan “wisata”. Pari yaitu berulang-ulang atau berkali-kali dan wisata merupakan perjalanan atau bepergian. Oleh karena itu, kata pariwisata lebih tepat nya dalam bahasa Inggris sebagai kata “tour”. Kata tour sendiri sebenarnya berasal dari Bahasa Latin yaitu “tornus” dari asal kata “tornare” yang dapat diartikan sebagai gerakan memutar. Tornare juga berhubungan dengan Bahasa Perancis kuno “tourner” dan Bahasa Inggris kuno yaitu “tyrnan” dan “turnian” yang artinya pergi dan kembali lagi. Dapat diartikan bahwa pengertian pariwisata adalah kegiatan perjalanan wisata yang dilakukan mulai dari tempat tinggal menuju ke tempat tujuan wisata (destinasi) dan kembali lagi ke tempat asal (origin) yang dapat menghasilkan pengalaman bagi pelaku kegiatan perjalanan wisata atau wisatawan. Pariwisata tidak luput dengan manajemen jasa sebagai sarana untuk memaksimalkan pariwisata denga sangat baik. Manajemen jasa sangat membantu berjalanannya berwisata di setiap tempat, dengan manajemen jasa yang baik program pariwisata akan bisa berjalan baik dan menambah perekonomian dengan sangat baik./ Tourism comes from Sanskrit which consists of two syllables, namely "pari" and "wisata". Pari is repeated or many times and tourism is traveling or traveling. Therefore, the word tourism is more appropriate in English as the word "tour". The word tour itself actually comes from the Latin "tornus" from the origin of the word "tornare" which can be interpreted as a circular motion. Tornare is also related to the old French "tourner" and the old English "tyrnan" and "turnian" which means going and returning. It can be interpreted that the definition of tourism is a travel activity carried out starting from a place of residence to a tourist destination (destination) and returning to the place of origin (origin) which can generate experiences for the perpetrator of travel activities or tourists. Tourism does not escape with service management as a means to maximize tourism very well. Service management is very helpful for traveling in every place, with good service management the tourism program will be able to run well and add to the economy very well.
