Abstract
Minat belajar akan membuat siswa memiliki ketertarikan dalam mengikuti
setiap aktivitas pembelajaran, sehingga mereka dapat memahami tujuan mereka
mempelajari suatu materi. Namun, pada kenyataannya peneliti menemukan siswa
kelas XI IPA 1 sekolah ABC Semarang tidak memiliki minat belajar yang baik.
Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, peneliti menggunakan metode Course Review
Horay untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui cara penerapan metode Course Review Horay dalam meningkatkan
minat belajar siswa.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan peneliti adalah penelitian tindakan kelas
(PTK) model Kemmis dan Taggart yang berlangsung selama dua siklus. Subjek
penelitian adalah siswa-siswi kelas XI IPA 1 yang terdiri dari 23 orang.
Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instumen berupa lembar
observasi, lembar angket, lembar umpan balik, lembar tes, dokumentasi, dan
jurnal refleksi. Peneliti menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif untuk
menganalisis data.
Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut, diperoleh hasil bahwa metode Course
Review Horay dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa, yaitu dengan melakukan
tahapan secara utuh, baik, dengan instruksi yang jelas, dan pembagian kelompok
yang merata. Adanya kotak kebenaran,tanda kebenaran, teriakan horay dan yel�yel membuat suasana kelas menjadi menyenangkan, sehingga siswa semakin
senang, tertarik, memberi perhatian, dan partisipasi dalam pembelajaran./ Student‟s learning interest will make student get attracted in following
learning activity, so that they can understand the learning objective of the lesson.
However, the researcher found that there is no adequate interest in learning at
students in grade XI Science Semarang. Based on this problem, the researcher
used Course Review Horay method to increase student‟s interest in learning. This
research is aim to know the way to apply Course Review Horay method in
increasing students learning interest.
The research method used by the researcher was Classroom Action
Research (CAR) in Kemmis and Taggart model which on going in two cycles.
Subjects of the research were students in grade XI Science 1 who are contain of
23 students. Data accumulation done by using instrument such as observation
form, questionnaire form, feedback paper, test paper, documentation, and
reflection journal. The researcher used descriptive technique to analyze the data.
Based on this research, the researcher gained the result that Course Review
Horay method can increase students learning interest by doing the the steps
holistically, correctly, clear instruction, and balance group division. By having the
correction boxes, correction sign, shouting horay, and yelling make the class
situation becomes interesting, then the students will be happier, more interest,
giving attention, and more participate in the learning process.
