Abstract
Penyakit degeneratif merupakan penyakit karena faktor dari pola hidup yang kurang sehat yang umumnya disebabkan karena mengonsumsi makanan cepat saji, merokok, minum minuman beralkohol. Penyakit degeneratidegeneratif ve juga muncul karena adanya aktivitas radikal bebas yang berlebihan dalam tubuh sehingga molekul dan jaringan tubuh rusak. Radikal bebas adalah gugus yang memiliki satu ataupun lebih elektron yang tidak berpasangan. Untuk membantu proses netralisasi radikal bebas yang berlebih dibutuhkan antioksidan. Salah satu tanaman yang berpotensi memiliki aktivitas antioksidan adalah daun ekor naga. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder dan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol 70% daun ekor naga dengan menggunakan metode DPPH yang dapat dinyatakan dengan parameter IC_50. Daun ekor naga dimaserasi dengan pelarut etanol 70% selanjutnya dilakukan skrining fitokimia dan pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH. Ekstrak daun ekor naga mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tanin, steroid, dan triterpenoid. Hasil pengujian aktivitas aktioksidan ekstrak etanol daun ekor naga yang diperoleh 265.3 ppm, sehingga ekstrak etanol 70% daun ekor naga tidak mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan. / Degenerative disease is a disease due to factors from an unhealthy lifestyle which is generally caused by eating fast food, smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages. Degenerative degenerative diseases also arise due to excessive free radical activity in the body so that the molecules and tissues of the body are damaged. Free radicals are groups that have one or more unpaired electrons. To help neutralize excess free radicals, antioxidants are needed. One of the plants that has the potential to have antioxidant activity is dragon tail leaves. This research was conducted with the aim to determine the content of secondary metabolites and the antioxidant activity of 70% ethanol extract of dragon tail leaves using the DPPH method which can be expressed by the parameter IC_50. Dragon's tail leaves macerated with 70% ethanol solvent, then phytochemical screening and antioxidant activity testing will be carried out using the DPPH method. Dragon's tail extract contains alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, steroids, and triterpenoids. The test results for the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of the dragon's tail leaf obtained were 265.3 ppm, so that the 70% ethanol extract of the dragon's tail leaves did not have antioxidant activity.
