Abstract
Pisang Raja merupakan salah satu pisang hasil perkawinan silang yang tumbuh di Indonesia. Umumnya, Pisang Raja dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan pangan dan bagian daunnya digunakan sebagai pembungkus makanan tradisional oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Berdasarkan pada hasil penelitian sebelumnya, daun Pisang Raja memiliki kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder berupa flavonoid yang mana senyawa tersebut diketahui memiliki manfaat sebagai antioksidan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui nilai aktivitas antioksidan yang terkandung pada ekstrak metanol daun Pisang Raja dengan menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-difenil-1-pikrilhidrazil). Simplisia daun pisang raja diekstrasi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut metanol dan dilakukannya skrining fitokimia serta uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH. Berdasarkan pengujian tersebut, hasil rendemen yang diperoleh adalah sebesar 7,7386%. Hasil skrining fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol daun pisang raja (Musa acuminata × Musa balbisiana) mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder berupa flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin dan steroid. Hasil uji aktivitas daun pisang raja diperoleh bahwa ekstrak metanol daun pisang raja (Musa acuminata × Musa balbsiana) memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang kuat dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 42,133 ppm dan tidak lebih baik dari vitamin C. / Pisang Raja is one of the cross-breeding bananas that grows in Indonesia. Generally, Pisang Raja is used as a food ingredient and the leaves are used as traditional food wrappers by Indonesian people. Based on the results of previous studies, plantain leaves contain secondary metabolite compounds in the form of flavonoids which are known to have benefits as antioxidants. Therefore, this research was conducted to determine the value of the antioxidant activity contained in the methanol extract of plantain leaves using the DPPH (2,2- diphenyl-1-pikrilhidrazyl) method. Pisang Raja leaf simplicia was extracted using the maceration method with methanol solvent and phytochemical screening and antioxidant activity tests were carried out using the DPPH method. Based on these tests, the yield obtained was 7.7386%. The results of the phytochemical screening showed that the methanol extract of Pisang Raja (Musa acuminata × Musa balbisiana) leaves contained secondary metabolites in the form of flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins and steroids. The results of the activity test of plantain leaves showed that methanol extract of plantain leaves (Musa acuminata × Musa balbsiana) has strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 42.133 ppm and not better than vitamin C.
