Abstract
Kesuksesan pembelajaran di kelas membutuhkan keterlibatan siswa sebagai
wujud dari motivasi. Keterlibatan siswa (kognitif, perilaku, dan afektif) mampu
bekerja sama menjadi siswa sebagai pelajar yang aktif. Berdasarkan obervasi yang
dilakukan peneliti pada siswa kelas V di Sekolah Kristen Jakarta Barat, peneliti
menemukan masalah bahwa kurangnya keterlibatan siswa kelas V dalam
pembelajaran. Solusi dari masalah ini harus segera ditemukan; dan pendekatan
pembelajaran Numbered Heads Together dapat menjadi salah satu solusi.
Penelitian dilakukan pada 8 Oktober 2015-26 November 2015 pada SDK Jakarta
Barat pada 9 siswa selama 2 siklus. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini
adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas(PTK) model spiral dari Kemmis dan Taggart.
Metode pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah checklist, wawancara, dan
refleksi. Analisis deskriptif statistik dan analisis deskriptif kualitatif adalah teknik
yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang diperolah pada penelitian ini. Hasil
penelitian menyatakan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran NHT berdampak
meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa selama pembelajaran. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan
tercapainya semua indikator keterlibatan siswa yakni siswa fokus memperhatikan
penjelasan guru dan teman, siswa berpartisipasi aktif selama pembelajaran dan
siswa menunjukan sikap antusias. Keterlibatan siswa dapat ditingkatkan dengan
cara melaksanakan tahapan-tahapan dalam model pembelajaran NHT dengan
memperhatikan prosedur dan peraturan kelas selama pembelajaran, mengatur
teknis dan alur kegiatan belajar kelompok agar dipahami oleh siswa dan
menekankan tujuan dan manfaat belajar dalam kelompok./ The success of the learning in the class need the students’ engagement as the
outcome of motivation. The students’ engagement (cognitive, behavioral and
affective) could make the students as the active learner. Based on observation
which conducted by the researcher in grade V students at Christian School in
West Jakarta, the researcher found that the problem was the lack of grade V
students’ engagement were in the learning process. The solution for the problem
had to found immediately, and the Numbered Heads Together learning method
could be the solution. This research was conducted on October, 8th 2015 -
November, 26th 2015 at Christian School in West Jakarta with 9 students in two
cycles. The method that was used in this research was Classroom Action Research
(CAR) with the spiral model from Kemmis and Taggart. The method of data
collection in this research were checklists, interviews, and reflection. Statistic
descriptive analysis and qualitative descriptive analysis were the techniques that
used to analysis the data in this research. The result of this research stated that the
implementation of Numbered Heads Together learning method had increased the
students’ engagement during the learning process. It was shown through the
achievement of all indicators of the students’ engagement, which were the
students focused on paying attention to the teacher and peers, the students have
actively participated and the students showed enthusiasm during the learning
process. The students’ engagement could increase by conducting all of the steps
of the NHT learning method through considered the class rules and procedures
during the learning process, arranged the technical and the flow of the group work
for it could be understood by the students and emphasized the goals and the
benefits of the group work.
