Abstract
Permasalahan yang diidentifikasi oleh peneliti adalah mengenai keaktifan
belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPS di salah satu Sekolah Dasar Kristen Papua.
Keaktifan belajar menjadi suatu permasalahan oleh karena keaktifan belajar
merupakan sifat siswa yang mendukung siswa untuk belajar. Maka dalam
penelitian ini, peneliti menerapkan sebuah metode yang bertujuan untuk
meningkatkan keaktfian siswa. Metode yang akan dipakai peneliti adalah metode
TGT. Pada penelitian ini akan dilihat ketercapaian dari rumusan masalah yakni
metode TGT meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa dan mengetahui langkah�langkah penerapan TGT dalam meningkatkan keaktfian belajar siswa.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas
(PTK) dengan siswa kelas V sebagai subjek penelitian. Siswa berjumlah 11 anak,
dengan 7 laki-laki dan 4 perempuan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 13
Oktober 2015 - 15 Oktober 2015. Dalam menganalisis data, peneliti menggunakan
teknik analisis kualitatif dan analisis statistik sederhana. Instrument yang digunakan
peneliti di dalam melakukan penelititan ini adalah lembar observasi penerapan
metode, lembar angket penerapan metode, lembar observasi keaktifan siswa,
lembar angket keaktifan siswa dan jurnal refleksi.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan maka dapat
disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode TGT dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa di
kelas V pada pembelajaran IPS./ The problem identified by the researcher is about student’s activeness in
learning Social Studies at one of the Christian elementary schools in Papua.
Activeness in learning has become a problem because activeness in learning is a
student behavior that support student’s in learning. Therefore, in this research, the
researcher implemented a method for the purpose of improving a student’s
activeness. The method used by the researcher is TGT method. This research will
showcase the achievement through research question which is the TGT method to
improve student’s learning activeness and know the steps in implementing the
TGT method in improving student’s activeness in learning.
The research method used is Classroom action research (CAR) with grade
V students as the subject of the research. The total students are 11 children, with
7 boys and 4 girls. The research was done on the 13th of October 2015 – 15th of
October 2015. In analyzing the data, the research used qualitative analysis
technique and simple statistical analysis. The instruments the researcher used in
doing the research are application method observation sheet, application method
questionnaire sheet, student activeness observation sheet, student activeness
questionnaire sheets, and journal reflection. Based on the result of the research
that has been done, it can be concluded that the implementation of TGT can
improve student’s activeness in students of grade V in learning social studies.
